personal attention from their teachers.
DB also has a full-time Learning Consultant who works
with students and their families to create individualized
academic plans according to each student’s strengths.
Expert Faculty
70% of our faculty have or are currently earning
advanced degrees. Our dedicated teachers are willing
to share their talents, knowledge, and passion with
their students and with one another to strengthen our
DB family.

are DB alumni!
Technology
Every DB student is equipped with a top-of-the-line

summer enrichment activities. Incoming students are considered for the
Academy based on application and grade school academic achievement.
6

A family of
faith
Our DB family is one part of a larger family: the body of Christ.
Students at DB are enriched with a faith and values-based education,
including religion classes in each grade level, monthly all-school Masses,
special prayer services, Kairos retreats, class prayer days, and other special
faith-based opportunities throughout the school year.
Our faculty and staff are trained to see each student as a child of God.
We strive to instill a Christian atmosphere in our halls where every child is
known by name, recognizing the dignity inherent in each individual.
DB also has several clubs centered on spirituality and service, such as the
Campus Ministry Club, the Liturgical Musicians, and the Pro-Life Club.
Students of all faiths are welcomed at DB and are encouraged to explore
and grow in their spirituality.
9
A family who
serves
We take our motto “Faith in Christ...Service to Others” seriously. Students
find many opportunities to help their local communities through Christian
service. All students must complete a required number of service hours
prior to graduation, including a two-week senior service project. We believe
this instills a lifelong commitment to service.
Many students surpass their requirement, participating in additional causes
or service opportunities that are meaningful to them. These students who
go above and beyond can be recognized through Archdiocesan awards,
such as the Archbishop May Service Award, the Martin Luther King Jr.
Model of Justice Award, and the Annual Catholic Appeal essay contest.
10
DB provides a myriad of service
opportunities and fosters students’
interests in social and humanitarian
issues, further encouraging them
to immerse themselves in the faith,
service and community culture at
Bishop DuBourg.

A family of
athletes
When students join the DB family, they have the chance to be part of an
athletic team from day one. Keeping our athletes involved from the very
start gives them the best chance to improve both athletically and socially
and build a confidence that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
At DB, student-athletes have a legitimate opportunity to be an integral
part of the team and contribute to its successes. Our teams succeed
at the district, conference, and state levels. Each year, graduates earn
scholarships to continue playing sports at the collegiate level both in and
out of state.
In 2019-20 alone, Cavaliers made state appearances in three sports
(without a spring season)! Every single one of our varsity teams qualified for
MSHSAA Academic All-State recognition.
12
The Cavaliers
The Cavaliers compete in the
Archdiocesan Athletic Association
(AAA) conference under the
regulation of the Missouri State
High School Activities Association
(MSHSAA). Athletic training and
medical services for our athletes
are provided by licensed SSM
Health professionals, with a
dedicated trainer on campus
during all athletic events.

A family of
artists
The Bishop DuBourg family is full of students who love to create. Through
our robust fine arts program of visual arts, vocal and instrumental music,
music production, and theater, we help students foster that creativity and
grow in their craft.
The Bishop DuBourg chapter of the National Art Honor Society gives our
top artists the opportunity for extra creative development. The NAHS is
responsible for painting the many murals found around DB’s halls—be sure
to look out for them next time you’re on campus!
14
Music
The Bishop DuBourg music program
has room for anyone interested in
pursuing vocal or instrumental music.
Our beginning guitar, piano, and drums
courses are perfect for anyone just
starting out, while our Jazz Band, Pep
Band, and Mixed Chorus offer students
the chance to grow as part of an
ensemble.
Art
Our visual arts curriculum allows students to explore the
many facets of art through a wide variety of mediums.
As art students progress, they can choose to focus on
ceramics and sculpture or drawing and painting, and the
most advanced artists have the opportunity to focus on
individual portfolio development and special projects.
Theater
The award-winning Guild Players have
a longstanding reputation for delivering
stellar performances. Driven by talented
casts, innovative set designs, and
masterful lighting and sound design, the
Guild strives to provide its audiences
with a quality production each fall and
spring. From lighting and sound to
costumes and make-up to dramatic,
comic, or musical performance, there is
something for everyone.
15
A family with
diverse interests
The vast majority of our students participate in at least one club or
extracurricular activity at DB! There is truly something for everyone at
DB. We currently offer more than 20 clubs and organizations for students
to join, and more are added every year based on our current students’
interests! Students are always encouraged to suggest new clubs that are
important to them.

A family of
support
At DB, we know high school is about much
more than just going to class. That’s why we
care for each other like a family, creating
an environment in which our students know
they are always supported, not just by our
administration, faculty, and staff, but also by
each other. We have several programs in place
that provide assistance for our students in the
areas of academics, mental health, social skills,
and overall well-being.
18
Peer Mentors
Peer mentors assist other students with homework, check in on their
well-being, and act as an additional support system. These students are
strategically selected by the administration and learning consultant and
carefully paired together with their fellow classmates.
NHS Peer Tutors
National Honor Society members serve their fellow students by tutoring
during Academic Hour or after school in Homework Club. By tutoring, the
students truly live the NHS pillars of academics, service, leadership, and
character.
Cavalier Experience
Cavalier Experience is a unique class required for all freshmen. The goal of
this course is to aid our freshmen’s transition into high school and teach
them the Cavalier way. This class teaches study skills, builds teamwork,
discusses common high school scenarios, and works to build students’
confidence for a successful high school career.
CARE Team
The CARE team, made up of the principal, guidance counselors, learning
consultant, campus ministers, and dean of students, keeps an eye on
students who need a little extra attention at any given time, whether it’s
an issue at home, difficulty with peers, school stress, or other needs. This
group works together to support students discretely and compassionately.
Big Brother/Sister
This student-to-student program pairs a group of juniors with freshmen,
giving them role models to assist in navigating high school. These Bigs help
introduce their freshmen to DB traditions and check in from time to time to
make sure they are getting along OK and offer help if they need it.

The Coed Advantage
Siblings learn together
Coed schools offer a comforting opportunity for
families with multiple children. Siblings can attend
the same school and be offered the same quality
learning experience. Families don’t have to juggle
two different school schedules, and they can feel
confident that their children are learning and
growing together from the same faculty and staff
under the same philosophies, values, and ideals.
Social Skills and Communication
In high school, students’ social and interpersonal skills develop. In a coed school,
these skills truly blossom. Respect, compassion, patience, understanding, and
teamwork are essential characteristics students need now and in the future. As
students interact in a coed world, implementing these skills becomes natural and
comfortable.
Extracurricular activities
At DB, students have the exciting opportunity to join teams and clubs with peers
of both genders. They can bond over similar interests, compete together, and form
long-lasting relationships along the way. Coed groups like theater, band, choir,
robotics, and pro-life club and coed sports teams like track and field encourage
students to work together and learn from one another.

A family who
loves its home
A family who loves its
home
Bishop DuBourg is located in the heart of the St. Louis Hills neighborhood,
widely known as one of the safest and most desirable residential
neighborhoods in the city of St. Louis.
Our students and staff enjoy the amazing city parks within walking
distance, including Francis Park (DB’s home softball field and tennis
court), Lindenwood Park, and Willmore Park (not to mention St. Louis
landmark Ted Drewes’ Frozen Custard!). We have generous and supportive
neighboring businesses and residents.
DB is also nearby to many of our partner grade schools. We are in close
proximity to the major highways, and we also border St. Louis County. We
have the best of both worlds!
