It’s so delightfulto watch how they treated people– all people – while they occupiedthe most powerful position in theworld… They treated everyonewith kindness and respect…Is it not, then, true, that ‘Onlythe strong can be gentle’?Deborah Day rightly pointsout, through the first part of herstatement, that it’s not possiblefor us to be gentle towards othersunless we are gentle towards self,first.In one of the videos I watcheda couple of days ago, BarackObama is seen interacting witha li’l Black kid, widely known as‘Kid President’. This kid’s visit tothe White House is very endearing...“The most important thing wecan all do is to treat everyone withkindness and respect.” On the surface,it sounds like an adult’s adviceto a kid. But, if we scratch itmore, it carries a very sound adviceto all of us: If we are nice toeach other, this world can be a lotbetter place!This 74th Independence Day,reflect on the above message.What a place this land can be, ifwe all start treating each otherwith kindness and respect!It may sound naive… But, Ithink, to embrace this advice, we
