MESSAGE FROM
THE MANAGING
DIRECTOR
Despite the challenges caused by the pandemic,
the 2019-2020 financial year was a good one.
Thanks to you, donors, communities,
foundations, businesses, employees, committee
members, professors, we have once again shown
that it is possible to accomplish our mission.
Your collaboration, anchored in this present
world while concerned by an uncertain future,
has allowed us to reach our goals.
Your support has contributed to:
transmitting profound values through the
College’s teaching, with its two main
hemispheres of Theology and Philosophy.
advancing research around ethics, spirituality,
Bible study, welcoming foreigners, etc.
improving the lives of our students
growing the library
disseminating our good work via publications,
conferences and radiotransmettre
On behalf of our staff, teachers and students, we
thank you for having made the 2019-2020 a year
of great accomplishments.

YOU HAVE THE
OPPORTUNITY
TO BUILD THE
FUTURE
In light of everything that I have received
from the College, I must express my
gratitude. I would naturally like to thank all
of the professors, but especially Father
Michel Gourgues, Mr. Jean-François Méthot,
Sister Marie-Thérèse Nadeau, Father Hervé
Tremblay, Mr. Gabor Csepregi, as well as
Father Maxime Allard. Each of you have
made an enormous contribution to my
academic success and have all influenced
my life’s vision and way of thinking.
If my gratitude was soon expressed in words, it
also came in the form of donations.
This gesture is not only a means to give back
to this Institution, but it is also a deed of
gratitude for the better persons we have
become through their learning, and a means
to give life-changing opportunities to those
new pupils in need of financial assistance to
pursue their studies, who will also be
transformed into better persons.

YOU HAVE THE
OPPORTUNITY TO
TEACH
Having the privilege to study philosophy at the
Dominican University College, to participate in the
unique experience offered by this precious
institution, has been an enlightening and
transformational experience for me.
The university, a place of the utmost strictness,
self-appraisal and right of passage, must also
continue to be a place where we grow deeply as
people, not only as learners and as citizens. In this
regard, the College and its Faculty of Philosophy
are specifically created for this path.
I equally believe that it is of critical importance
that the vitality of philosophy in our society be
maintained. In this sense, we cannot
underestimate the value of activities from
institutions like the Dominican University College
and the Dominican University College Foundation.

Marie-Éveline Belinga
Doctoral student in
philosophy and
recipient of the
Foundation’s bursary
Iwas very touched when I learned that I would
receive the Elisabeth Bruyère bursary for
philosophy. In my view, this bursary shines
light on the intellectual and spiritual process I
have been following throughout my doctorate
at the Dominican University College.
There aren’t many women who pursue a
doctorate in philosophy, but I am one of them.
This is why receiving a bursary that is inspired
by a woman’s works, in both heart and mind,
means so much to me. Elisabeth Bruyère is an
example for me to follow. Her engagement
inspires me, and I feel touched to be associated
with such an exceptional woman, through this
bursary that I have obtained.
This bursary will allow me to focus on my
academic success.
I wish to offer a warm thank you to the
Dominican University College Foundation and
its generous donors for supporting, through
bursaries, vocations in philosophy and theology
I wish to express my gratitude and hope that
this type of bursary program will continue,
especially for women in philosophy who are in
so much need of encouragement to keep
pushing forward.
