Progression

There are several key points where our students move onto

the next stage in their education. From September 2020

we will be teaching our new curriculum. This exciting new

development will go well beyond the requirements of the

national curriculum to ensure our students are given an

educational experience which is second to none. One example

of this is that we have been selected by the British Council

to teach Chinese to a group of Year 7 students as part of the

Mandarin Excellence programme with is run by one of the

top universities in the country (University College London).

Our 2021 Year 7 students will make their subject choices

in Year 9. This will ensure that the students experience

a wider range of subjects than we currently offer at Key

Stage 3 and they will be able to study them for longer.

The Director of Studies and the Year Leader work closely

together to prepare the students for the choices that they

make and there is also an Information Evening for parents.

We have a vibrant Sixth Form at Pudsey Grangefield School

and when our students reach Year 11 we interview them

all individually to discuss their future plans and how we

can best support them to achieve their goals. The Year 11

Director of Studies and Year Leader are heavily involved

in this process, as are our Sixth Form team. Parents are

also kept fully informed via information evenings.

As a result we have an excellent record of ensuring

that all of our students embark on the right career

path for them either as part of our vibrant Sixth Form,

by ensuring they gain their desired place at college,

securing an apprenticeship or gaining employment.

(If you require further information on our

Sixth Form, please see our website).

lessons and about the

school is good. Pupils

adults with respect’

in this process, as are our Sixth Form team. Parents are
