UMAC is a non-profit organisation founded in 1975
under the Faculty of Business and Accountancy of
University of Malaya. It aims to achieve recognition,
both locally and internationally, on its ability to produce
innovative, resourceful and highly competent
accountants who possess excellent communication
skills, interpersonal skills and have the passion to excel
and succeed in their careers.
As it is known, UMAC is rated as a 5-star student
club in University of Malaya, due to its professionalism
and continuous achievements of the accounting
undergraduates. UMAC serves as a platform for
members to foster relationships with each other and
cultivate the group learning culture and teamwork.
With this, it provides opportunities for members to
enhance their knowledge, skills and experience as well
as shaping them into good character with a positive
attitude and thus increasing their competitive
advantage.

UMAC Strategic Partner - ICAEW
ICAEW is a world leading professional accountancy body that provides leadership and
practical support to over 150,000 members in more than 160 countries. Our members are
ICAEW Chartered Accountants and use the letters ACA after their name. To be admitted
as a member, applicants must have acquired 450 days of relevant work experience and
pass a series of examinations. It is a prestigious qualification that gives you the
opportunity to learn while in full-time employment. This makes a strong
combination of studies and examinations complemented by business and professional
experience. Training is undertaken with one of our 170 Authorized Training Employers
(ATEs), which includes the Big 6 accountancy firms (Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PwC,
BDO, Grant Thornton), Petronas and Genting. ATEs are only admitted into the ACA
programme after they have been assessed by a global panel that ascertained they meet
the high standards required by the ICAEW.
UMAC Strategic Institution - Sunway TES
Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence (CAE) was incorporated in 1994 as a
subsidiary of the Sunway Education Group. Sunway TES CAE has been widely recognised
as a key player amongst learning providers of professional accounting and financial
programmes in Malaysia and also in the region. We conduct internationally renowned
professional accounting programmes such as ACCA, CAT, ICAEW, CFAB, CIA, CPA, and
CFA. Established to promote excellence in accounting training in Malaysia, Sunway TES
CAE is a multilevel collaborative initiative between Sunway TES CAE and its strategic
partners which include professional accounting bodies (ACCA, ICAEW), global and local
professional accounting firms, public institutions of higher education and large
corporations. Our track record includes producing over 200 World Prize winners in ACCA,
CAT and ICAEW programmes, as well as national champion level winners among all types
of accounting, finance, and business-related competitions; demonstrating our

Being one of the highlighted annual events of UMAC, W-Week will be an
impactful starting point for the first-year accounting undergraduates to instil
