Results of this peer-to-peer Learning Journey with 14 colleagues from German
and Swiss foundations have been presented at the Association of German
Foundations’ online event “5 Years SDGs: Experiences and needs of international
work in times of Corona”.
These outcomes are being distributed within the German Association of
Foundations and are topic of a special article on the ThinkLab 2.0 in the
“Stiftungswelt” publication as well.
The Learning Journey was implemented in partnership with the Association of
German Foundations and Deutsche Stiftungsakademie.

The virtual Learning Lab on “Impact of Networks” will take place in
November and will bring the Connecting Networks community
together. We will share the outcomes on www.iac-berlin.org.
We support an ongoing transformation process turning the
n-ost network of 250 journalists into a European
community of media professionals

On 17 and 18 September, Module I of the 21 st European Diplomatic Programme was held as a virtual event as part of Germany’s
Presidency of the Council of the EU. It brought together 60 young diplomats and 35 training officers from all EU member states for
three training sessions that were conceptualized and implemented by eight Global Diplomacy Lab members. The thematic focus of
this year’s Module I was the COVID-19 pandemic in general and, more specifically, the topics of multilateralism and civilian crisis
management.

For the fifth time in a row, GDL and BSF (Bled Strategic
Forum) pooled their efforts to confront some of the most
important global challenges.
At this year’s BSF, a group of dedicated GDL members
hosted a virtual session on the topics of City Diplomacy and
the Future of Multilateralism. It explored how cross-border
collaboration and experience-sharing between cities is
enabling them to lead the way in addressing global
challenges.

The Gender Alliance is a cross-network initiative bringing together
feminists from the Global Diplomacy Lab, the BMW Herbert Quandt
Foundation Responsible Leaders Network, the Global Leadership
Academy Community by GIZ, and the Bosch Alumni Network. The
member-driven project strives to advance the achievement of the
2030 Agenda’s Sustainable Development Goals on gender equity and
equality.
From 26-28 August, the Gender Alliance hosted a Summit consisting
of six interactive sessions which provided a platform for discussing
themes such as Gender Equality – Perception or Reality, Inclusive
Diplomacy, Women, Peace and Security, and Investing in Women-led
Businesses with the aim of coming up with concrete projects to
overcome these barriers.
