This formatmirrors how the fall semestercourses are currently being deliveredto students.“After carefully consideringthe current state of affairs regardingthe pandemic, and in keepingwith our paramount objective oflimiting the spread of COVID-19 among the MassBay community,we have decided not toopen the College to on-campusclasses and activities this spring,”said President Podell. “We haveproven our ability to effectivelyoffer our courses online and remotelywhile continuing to offerour students the robust academicand personal support servicesthat are the hallmark of a Mass-Bay education.”All fall semester courses atMassBay are being offered onlineor remotely except for a few Biotechnology,Health Sciences, andAutomotive Technology coursesthat contain a required hands-onlaboratory component. The Collegehas prepared and is followingcomprehensive access plansfor each of its three campusesin Wellesley Hills, Framingham,and Ashland to accommodatestudents attending these labbasedcourses.This fall, compared to fall2019, the College has doubledthe number of courses that usefree or Open Educational Resources(OER) to 74 courses,which makes these classes moreaffordable to students.Open Educational Resourcesare free or low-cost text, media,and other digital assets which areuseful for teaching, learning, andresearch. They are offered undera Creative Commons license thatpermits others to reuse, revise,remix, and redistribute them.
