Texas Key Day Treatment Type: Intermediate Sanction Subtype: Day Treatment Target Population: Delinquent youth This program provides probation services to juveniles who have committed crimes and aftercare services to juveniles released from a corrections facility. The 12-hour per day program includes education, counseling, vocational skills, training, and recreation programming. Youth are tracked after hours as well. It encourages offenders to accept responsibility for their actions and to acquire skills for healthier ways of coping with emotional needs. The program uses a cognitive approach to treatment and focuses on offense cycles and relapse prevention through the use of skill development, individual and family counseling, and mentoring.
