FELT WICK LUBRICATOR• Lubrication of traction motor suspension bearings isprovided by felt wick inserted in the oil reservoir ineach bearing cap, which ensure that the quantity of oilrequired for the lubrication of bearing as availablecontinuously.• The oil is drawn up from the oil reservoir to thebearing by capillary attraction in the strands of the feltand it is therefore essential for proper lubrication toprovide a continuous path for the oil flow. For theproper lubrication of suspension bearings it is goodnormal practice that felt wicks are maintained atsatisfactory level.
