Practical Aesthetics<br />

Atlantic Acting School Director of Admissions, NYC based actor, comedian, and storyteller Chris<br />
Booth, will introduce students to the contemporary acting technique developed by playwright David<br />
Mamet and actor William H. Macy, which is exclusively taught through the school they co-founded<br />
along with the Atlantic Theater Company in NYC. Steeped in the rich lineage of the later Stanislavskibased<br />
approaches, practical aesthetics focuses on script analysis and moment-to-moment work and<br />
offers the actor an accessible tool kit and a craftsman-like approach to the art of acting.<br />
The workshop will focus on the four steps of script analysis and how to apply them to your monologue<br />
work. Recommended for high school and college students and educators<br />

audience members. What’s his trick? Workshop participants will learn how to access the power<br />
of their voice, build a superstar presence on and off the stage, and command the attention of any<br />
audience. Join this iconic Ringling Bros. Ringmaster and one of Barbara Walter’s 10 Most Fascinating<br />
People as he shares stories and techniques from his career.<br />

performances. 5 selected students will get to work one-on-one with Ashley. All are welcome to audit<br />
the workshop as well.<br />
