chaLLenGe: EDC is <strong>the</strong> largest real estate chain in Denmark,<br />
employing 1,500 people in 237 <strong>of</strong>fices. In 2006, <strong>the</strong> company’s<br />
homemade CMS system for <strong>on</strong>line property listings was too<br />
difficult to edit and full <strong>of</strong> limitati<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
soLuti<strong>on</strong>: “We launched <strong>the</strong> new site, built <strong>on</strong> <strong>EPiServer</strong><br />
CMS that is very easy to use and develop. Now when we want<br />
to make a new attribute for <strong>the</strong> website, our time to market<br />
is much faster than our competitors, which gives us a real<br />
advantage.<br />
One <strong>of</strong> our main goals is to turn website users from passive<br />
to active, so instead <strong>of</strong> just looking at a prospect <strong>the</strong>y interact<br />
with us. We want <strong>the</strong>m to c<strong>on</strong>tact a local agent, order materials,<br />
or sign up for a showing. This is<br />
why <strong>EPiServer</strong> CMS is so good for<br />
us, since it makes it so easy for us<br />
to create new ways to get in touch<br />
with users.<br />
Currently <strong>the</strong> website has 1.4<br />
milli<strong>on</strong> visits each m<strong>on</strong>th, based<br />
<strong>on</strong> 350,000 users. In <strong>the</strong> future<br />
we will upgrade to <strong>EPiServer</strong> CMS 6, develop pers<strong>on</strong>alizati<strong>on</strong><br />
features, and make property listings more based <strong>on</strong> Google<br />
maps ra<strong>the</strong>r than postal codes. <strong>EPiServer</strong> CMS will enable us<br />
to develop <strong>the</strong>se functi<strong>on</strong>s, which will make it easier for us to<br />
turn users into customers. ”
