Boys’ Soccer
The virtually rebuilt team had a
rough start, but during region
play rebounded well finishing
4-2 in region and taking second place
in Region 8. We then beat Waterford
1-0 in the first round of the state
tournament before losing to Park City
2-0 in the quarterfinals. Defense was
a strength this year with that unit
being led by team captain Anthony
Rainaldi as Sweeper. Leading scorer
was Rouzbeh Mirhosseini with 4
goals on the year. Our assist leader,
Dominic Garcia, was also a captain.
Baseball
The Baseball team had a banner
year winning its third straight
Region 8 title and finishing second
in the 3A State Tournament, with
an overall 21-7 record. The team was
led by co-MVP's Jared Forbush and
Joe Glavin along with the outstanding
pitcher of 2008, Caleb Olson,
6-1, 1.56 earned run average. Five
seniors received scholarships to play
baseball at three colleges next fall.
Jordan Cox will pitch for California
Lutheran University. Three will go to
Taft College in Southern California:
midfielder and pitcher Patrick Fratto
will study pharmacy, outfielder Bryan
James will study computer science,
and third baseman Michael Lipsey
will explore business. Joe Glavin

Senior Ryan Elorreaga, Defensive
Player of the Year, and Devin Thomas
were all instrumental in JD's season.
Juniors Forbush, Olson, Drew Tate,
Matt Semancik, Brennan Stelling,
Jake Doughty, Taylor Berg and Mike
Ramirez make the future look bright
for the baseball program.
