Series V: American Musicological Society<br />
This series consists of material generated through <strong>Lowinsky</strong>'s professional association with <strong>the</strong><br />
American Musicological Society. This series is organized in<strong>to</strong> three subseries, with files arranged<br />
alphabetically in each:<br />
Subseries 1: Meetings, documents <strong>the</strong> society's Annual Meetings, Executive Board meetings,<br />
and meetings of regional chapters. Files span 1957-1980 and include minutes, agendas, reports,<br />
drafts of lectures, abstracts, supplementary handouts, programs, reports and publicity material.<br />
Subseries 2: International Josquin Festival-Conference, consists of material related <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
organization and proceedings of this 1971 event. Materials date from <strong>the</strong> late 1960s-early 1980s,<br />
but are heavily concentrated in 1971. Much of this subseries consists of correspondence, but<br />
<strong>the</strong>re are also drafts of papers, abstracts, programs, meeting minutes and agendas, financial<br />
documents and travel materials.<br />
Subseries 3: General, spans 1941-1985 and contains newsletters of <strong>the</strong> AMS, correspondence<br />
on a variety of <strong>to</strong>pics, and newsletters and meeting materials from <strong>the</strong> Midwest Chapter of <strong>the</strong><br />
society.<br />
