After more than fifteen years as a professional
harpist, I have gained a varied and unique
experience of both performing and teaching, as
well as recording, writing and various other areas
of the music industry.
After graduating from UEA I set up my own
private practice and continued to perform at
weddings, functions, concerts and recitals. I now
play for dozens of weddings every year and my
public appearances include solo and chamber
music, concerts with various groups and
orchestras.
I was absolutely thrilled last year to be awarded
the title "Best Ceremony Act" East of England
in the Event Entertainment Awards, organised
by Book Entertainment.
I am a pop and film specialist so have an
extensive repertoire in these genres, although I
still play many classics and traditional pieces as
well.

for your wedding dress appointment:
Try On Different Silhouettes
Different silhouettes highlight different parts of
the body. Try a variety of different ones to find
the perfect type for you and you might find that
it may not be the one that you thought it would
be :-) I recently had a bride who came to Maisie
Darling adamant that she wanted a ballgown,
she had dreamt of it all her life! So she was
mortified when she tried one on and it did not
suit her figure. She had a very petite frame and
the dress was too elaborate. After a few tears,
I convinced her to try a sheath dress. It was
perfect. the unbroken contours and less fabric
lengthened her figure - it was her perfect
wedding dress.
9 Consider Who You Take
With You
Dress shopping is a very exciting and
momentous experience. But it can be very
confusing if you have too many people with you.
They may all have their own ideas and opinions
on what is best for YOU. With the 'new normal',
most boutiques are allowing the bride, plus one
guest at the appointment. They may also have
the technology to allow others to join the
appointment online. Ideally, 2-3 guests is a
perfect amount and picking people that will
consider you and your style will make for a
happy and stress-free appointment.
E) Try Shoes On With Each Dress
Now these don't have to be the shoes you are
going to wear on your wedding day, but putting a
pair of shoes on will help you to see how the dress
will hang as you are walking around the boutique
(or swooshing!) If you have decided to wear heels
on the day, then once you have these on, it will
lengthen and alter the way you hold your body.
Even with flats on you will stand and hold yourself
slightly different.

0 Think About Your Undies!
No matter what style of dress you think you may be
trying on, consider what undies you wear to your
appointment. First of all, it will help with your confidence.
If you have a pair of knickers on that have a big hole in
the back, you won't feel very glamourous!! Secondly, try
and wear nude or light colours. The appearance of a
dress will be totally different if your green polka dot
bra is on show!
C, Be Open-Minded
You will of course have seen lots of beautiful dresses
on Pinterest or the internet which you love and will
make you think 'I want a dress like that!!' However.
you may not have considered what that dress will
look like on your body. The model may have been
petite. and you are 6ft - therefore it will look
different, The model may have big boobs and you
have small ones. therefore it will look different. Try
to be open-minded with the dress styles you try on
- you are then much more likely to find the perfect
dress for you. I really really encourage brides to tell
me which parts they love and which they dislike
about each dress, that then really helps us to
narrow down the styles and design of the dresses.
I hope these will help. Most of all just enjoy
the experience, your boutique will guide
you through the process!

Heritage Venue
Leicester Guildhall
One of the finest surviving timber-framed medieval halls in England, The Guildhall has
been a focus of life in Leicester for more than 600 years. Dating back to 1390, The
Guildhall’s historic architecture is beautifully complemented by the recently developed
contemporary gardens next to Leicester Cathedral.
For a more intimate ceremony or drinks reception, the Mayor’s Parlour offers a backdrop
of carved wooden panels, an elaborate 17th-century fireplace and stunning 15th-century
