WELCOME
As you are aware from our work in the
programme RFID has passed through it’s “trial
phase” and is now providing a quantifiable
return on investment for diverse organisations.
This is particularly noticeable in their supply chain
operations as applications continue to grow in
complexity and cost effectiveness. In this edition
of your euroRFID report a number of topics and
applications are being addressed including
Aviation and Automotive. These are in addition
to our regular updates on Retail and
Pharmaceutical applications. As always we
have comment from some of the leading
industry bodies and in this edition we welcome
contributions from IATA and Odette International.
Much of the information within this report will be
followed up on again later in the year as we
continue to liaise with the leading RFID vendors
and industry bodies to ensure that you have up
to date information on the solutions available to
you now.
On your request one of the key areas we
will begin to focus on in the programme is the
issue of training. As the number of
implementations continues to increase so will the
gap between supply and demand of individuals
with the required skills. We will be in a position
later this year to organise through our partners,
vendor neutral training for your staff and address
your stated shortage of skills in this field.
We would like to thank all the contributors
for their assistance in putting this information
together and trust that you the end user
continue to find it a useful information source.
