ABOUT ME
I am a person who grew up as camera man of every group picture. At first i feel offended and
on some point, I got annoyed when they give me a camera or their phone. Again, to take some
group photo without ME! because i’m their photographer of course. I dream to be a model. I want
to be the one who notice in a photograph. But it change my perspective when someone tap me
and said that “You always took beautiful photos. I hope you could be my wedding photographer.” It
somehow enlighten me and reason to love photography. It has a great feeling for me to be credited
and mention me as their photographer.
Now and then, i’m still everybody’s photo group camera man. But somehow, now I took photos
with touch of passion and love for photography. For me, being a photographer is a privilage. You
see and capture moments through sad and happy times. The photo we take has always a story on it.
Just like what it said in the qoute by Henrik Ibasen, “ A picture is worth a thousand of words”. Photograph
is a fortune we want to treasure. Let the money begone, just don’t rip off or burn my pictures.
That’s my memory and it will never be replaced. Do you agree too?
After a long introduction and a background story on how I get into photography, I want to
take a self introduction before we proceed to my portfolio. I am Mary Franz Salazar, a fine arts student
of Technological University of the Philippines. I describe myself as a person who is versatile
incomes of arts. I entitled myself as an artist, film director, photographer, animator, graphic designer,
pianist, chess player, and a person who do loves to eat tomato. I think the only talent I didn’t gain is
being a dancer (laugh). For the past 20 years, I let myself to express my inner feeling through paintings,
short films, photographs, illustrations, and music that I make. I’m not a social person. I’m a type
of person who doesn’t want to talk to people for to much time. But because thanks to the existence
of visual art, this problem of mine is solved. Now that we are done about me. Enjoy and be inspire
