And the teams,which have included from 4-to-7 members in the past, can includeas few as 1-to-3 this year.Still, the pre-dawn-to-sunsetbird identification marathon remainsa unique competition tofind the greatest number of speciesand to earn the greatest numberof points based on the rarityof the birds recorded. Needlessto say, strategy and planning areessential to winning.The event includes activitiesappropriate for all levels ofbirders, with prizes awardedin seven categories.
