Not far from Gosforth High Street,
our clients’ impressive terraced house
is being renovated to a high standard,
with great taste and charm.
NOOK’s brief was to design and install
a library wall in the first-floor living room,
around the original marble fireplace
and incorporating the doorway.
The library should be almost full height
but still expose the existing ornate
cornice and exactly match the original
high skirting.
The design needed to include storage for
a large vinyl LP record collection, many
books, wall lighting and door and drawer
handles collected by our clients.
A library ladder allowed access to the
highest shelves and fluted pilasters
suitable columns for the upturned lights.
Finished in Farrow & Ball Basalt Blue the
new library wall is another lovely feature
in a wonderful home.
