Our

Aims

Our aim is to achieve personal growth

and success for your son or daughter

within a caring environment. This is

accomplished through the setting

of a small, dynamic, family-oriented

school, where cultural diversity is

acknowledged and valued.

Our Values

Our main values of openness and mutual respect are at the centre of our school.

At Quainton Hall School and Nursery, your child has the opportunity to:

• Enjoy a well-balanced curriculum.

• Participate in a wide range of sporting, artistic and musical activities.

• Benefit from high quality resources and technology.

Together we will:

• Enable your child to develop their talents and enthusiasm for learning.

• Enable your child to grow into a confident and passionate young person,

ready for the challenges and opportunities of life.

COVID19

At the time of producing this

document, government restrictions

are limiting some of the activities

listed here. As restrictions are lifted,

limitations will also be relaxed.

Nursery Overview

Children can enter the Quainton Hall School Nursery from the age of 2 years and 6

months. In the September after they are 4, they will have priority in applying to move up

into the Reception class.

The Nursery is housed in the Early Years Foundation Stage building along with the School

Reception class on Radnor Road. It is a modern, bright and safe setting. We have a

minimum adult to child ratio of 1:4 for two year olds and 1:6 from three years upwards. This

ensures the children are constantly stimulated allowing them to make excellent progress.

The Nursery joins in with the rest of the school where possible such as by taking part in

fund-raising events, enjoying educational workshops and participating in curriculum days.

“Our son is loving Quainton Hall

Nursery. He tells us every day

all the things he has done and

learnt, and today he showed us

some yoga moves and

sang ‘Alouette’!

You are all doing a great job,

thank you!”

Nursery School Parent

The curriculum at Nursery is exciting and

inspiring due to the staff’s devoted attitude.

The children are able to develop their social and

academic skills through a balance of

adult-led group activities and playbased

provision. We have an interactive Promethean

ActivPanel and iPads which the children benefit

from using. The Early Years Foundation Stage

building also benefits from having a fantastic

outdoor area which supports development in all

areas of the EYFS Curriculum.

Parents fill in our application form to apply for a Nursery place. Parents are

advised to have had a tour of the Nursery and the School prior to this.

If there is availability within the Nursery, the child will be invited for an informal

assessment. Otherwise, the child’s name will be placed on a waiting list.

Parents are informed within seven working days as to whether their child will be

offered a place. There is a registration fee of £50 which is non-refundable and a

deposit of £350.00 which is payable on accepting a secured place at the Nursery

and will be refunded when your child leaves our establishment. The deposit is

not payable using Tax Free Childcare.

The expectation is that the Nursery staff will be doing home visits to the children’s

homes before they start Nursery. These would normally take place at the start of

the Autumn Term in September. During current Covid-19 restrictions, this clearly

is not possible.

If a child joins the Nursery in the middle of the academic year an induction

process with your child will take place.

Our Nursery children are assessed in the January before they would move to

Reception the following September. They are given priority over children from

other nurseries.

Links

“The link book is great for

keeping us informed on

upcoming events and it

enables me to write messages

for her teachers.”

Nursery School Parent

At Quainton Hall School a partnership develops between parents and the school in

which we work together to support the children in fulfilling their potential.

Communication between staff and parents is excellent as there are a range of

communication methods which are introduced from Nursery. Parents can contact staff

verbally, by email or through writing in the children’s individual link books.

Parents are welcomed into the school and their varied contributions are greatly

appreciated. There are termly parents’ evenings and a ‘How to help your child evening’

early in the year to ensure the staff and parents are working in unison.

Parents are invited to events such as Sports day and the Christmas Concert.
