Academics & CurriculumDIVERSIFIED CURRICULUMBlanchet offers a comprehensive curriculum incollege preparatory and standard core subjects.Seventy-five percent of Blanchet’s facultyhold at least one advanced degree, and all arehighly qualified in their subject area. With anaverage class size of nineteen, teachers enjoythe opportunity to know each of their studentsindividually.ACADEMIC EXCELLENCEBlanchet has a tradition of academic excellence.The school boasts a 99% graduation rateand over 95% of its graduates continue theireducation immediately after graduation atcolleges and universities throughout thecountry. Cavalier graduating classes average$4.3 million in college scholarships annually.Students at Blanchet consistently score higherthan state and national averages on the SATand the ACT exams. Since the school’s openingin 1995, thirty students have been honoredby the prestigious National Merit Scholarshiporganization.Each year a number of students participatein Blanchet Catholic School’s “College CreditNow” program together earning on average 208college credits for a total savings of $114,192.FACILITIESBlanchet features an excellent student center,library, MakerSpace, performing arts center,science center, computer lab, digital medialab, turf field & track stadium, and twogymnasiums.COUNSELINGThe counseling center provides both personaland college guidance to students. Mid high students enjoy theirown classrooms, lunchroom and lockerhallways. However, they also have access toother campus resources such as the school’sgymnasiums, library and computer lab. Themid high has its own student governmentand yearbook. Blanchet’s sixth grade studentsenjoy a “homeroom” located in the mid highcommons. Students in seventh and eighthgrade are enrolled in six core curriculumclasses and one elective class daily.SCHEDULEBoth mid high and high school students attendseven 50-minute long classes per day. Classesmeet five days each week during the 18-weeksemester. The school year is divided intotwo semesters, each with six-week reportingperiods.
