mGOD’S ADVICE

Christ’s letters to

the church today

“To the angel of the assembly in Ephesus write:

“He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, he who walks

among the seven golden lamp stands says these things:

“I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that

you can’t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves

apostles, and they are not, and found them false. You have

perseverance and have endured for my name’s sake, and have not

grown weary. But I have this against you, that you left your first

love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent

and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly,

and will move your lamp stand out of its place, unless you repent.

But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans,

which I also hate. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit

says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I will give to eat

from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God.

“To the angel of the assembly in Smyrna

write:

“The first and the last, who was dead, and

has come to life says these things:

“I know your works, oppression, and your

poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy

of those who say they are Jews, and

He who has an

ear, let him hear

what the Spirit

says to the

assemblies.

they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Don’t be afraid of the

things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about

to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and

you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I

will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear

what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He who overcomes won’t

be harmed by the second death.

“To the angel of the assembly in Pergamum write:

“He who has the sharp two-edged sword says these things:

“I know your works and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is.

You hold firmly to my name, and didn’t deny my faith in the days

of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among

you, where Satan dwells. But I have a few things against you, because

you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who

taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of

Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.

So you also have some who hold to the teaching of the

Nicolaitans likewise . Repent therefore, or else I am coming to

you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword

of my mouth. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit

says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes, to him I will give

of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and on

the stone a new name written, which no one knows but he who

receives it.

“To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write:

“The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet

are like burnished brass, says these things:

“I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance,

and that your last works are more than the first. But I have this

against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls

herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to

commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual

immorality. Behold, I will throw her into a bed, and those who

commit adultery with her into great oppression, unless they repent

of her works. I will kill her children with Death, and all the

assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and

hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds. But

to you I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as don’t have

this teaching, who don’t know what some call ‘the deep things of

Satan,’ to you I say, I am not putting any other burden on you.

Nevertheless, hold that which you have firmly until I come. He

who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him I

will give authority over the nations. He will rule them with a rod

of iron, shattering them like clay pots; as I also have received of

my Father: and I will give him the morning star. He who has an

ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.

“And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write:

“He who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars says

these things:

“I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive,

but you are dead. Wake up, and keep the things that remain,

which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works

of yours perfected before my God. Remember therefore how you

have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you

won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what

hour I will come upon you. Nevertheless you have a few names in

Sardis that did not defile their garments. They will walk with me

in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes will be arrayed

in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the

book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and

before his angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit

says to the assemblies.

Psalm 118:21-27 - I will give thanks to you, for you

have answered me, and have become my salvation.

The stone which the builders rejected has

become the head of the corner. This is the Lord’s

doing. It is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day

that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be

glad in it! Save us now, we beg you, O Lord! O

Lord, we beg you, send prosperity now. Blessed

is he who comes in the Lord’s name! We have

blessed you out of the Lord’s house. The Lord is

God, and he has given us light.

David Jesse

Luke 1:46-55 - “My soul magnifies the Lord. My

spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior, for he has

looked at the humble state of his servant. For behold,

from now on, all generations will call me

blessed. For he who is mighty has done great

things for me. Holy is his name. His mercy is

for generations of generations on those who fear

him. He has shown strength with his arm. He

has scattered the proud in the imagination of

their hearts. He has put down princes from

their thrones. And has exalted the lowly. He

has filled the hungry with good things. He

has sent the rich away empty. He has given

help to Israel, his servant, that he might remember

mercy, As he spoke to our fathers, to

Abraham and his offspring forever.”

Mary, the mother of Jesus

Luke 7:37-38 - Behold, a woman in the city who

was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining

in the Pharisee’s house, she brought

an alabaster jar of ointment. Standing behind

at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet

with her tears, and she wiped them with the

hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed

them with the ointment.

Hope in the midst of the storm

Psalm 27 - The Lord is my light and my salvation.

Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of

my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers

came at me to eat up my flesh, even my

adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and

fell. Though an army should encamp against

me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should

rise against me, even then I will be confident.

One thing I have asked of the Lord, that I will

seek after, that I may dwell in the Lord’s house

all the days of my life, to see the Lord’s beauty,

and to inquire in his temple. For in the day of

trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion.

In the covert of his tabernacle he will hide me.

He will lift me up on a rock. Now my head will

be lifted up above my enemies around me. I will

offer sacrifices of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes,

I will sing praises to the Lord. Hear, O Lord,

when I cry with my voice. Have mercy also on

me, and answer me. When you said, “Seek my

face,” my heart said to you, “I will seek your

face, O Lord.” Don’t hide your face from me.

Don’t put your servant away in anger. You have

been my help. Don’t abandon me, neither forsake

me, God of my salvation. When my father

and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will

take me up. Teach me your way, O Lord. Lead

me in a straight path, because of my enemies.

Don’t deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries,

for false witnesses have risen up against

me, such as breathe out cruelty. I am still confident

of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord

in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Be

strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes,

wait for the Lord.

Bible verses to live by today

“The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Mark 10:45

God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans

6:23

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously

give us all things? Romans 8:32

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness

of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became

poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world

to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 1 Timothy 1:15

In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation

for our sins. 1 John 4:10

Surely he has borne our sickness and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck

by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities.

The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. All

we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on him

the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6
