Recovery Zones:

Recovery Zones

Recovery Zones is treatment method

philosophy used to treat all addictions:

chemical (alcohol or drugs), behavioral, and

process (e.g., sex and love addiction, internet

gaming addiction, gambling addiction,

overeating addiction).

• Active Zone: the activities

and behaviors that you must

abstain from (eg drugs,

alcohol, pornography, paying

for sex, processed sugar).

• Danger Zone: the triggers,

negative thoughts, disturbing

feelings and ineffective

behaviors, behaviors

could lead you to the Active

Zone.

• Recovery Zone: anything that

is healthful and brings about

your recovery.

Pillars of Recovery

We base group sessions on a 6-pillar

recovery model, a program that takes you

from addiction and isolation to connection.

The Pillars:

Pillar 1: Connection

Pillar 2: Healing

Pillar 3: Emotional Regulation

Pillar 4: Choice of Action

Pillar 5: Self Honesty

Pillar 6: Acceptance and

Assimilation

Pillar 1:

Connection

Regularly sharing and expressing your

emotions, discussing your current problems in

a group, provides an opportunity to receive

perspectives, support, encouragement, and

feedback from multiple people in a safe and

confidential environment.

Connection with oneself

and with others is

fostered through

Process Group

Meetings.

Gain a deepened selfawareness

regarding

relationships with

others and leave group

therapy feeling

empowered.

Pillar 2:

Healing

In recovery focus the therapist focuses on a

specific topic where you are encouraged to

engage in discussion that allows you to

discover the reasons your life became the

way that it is.

This commences the journey of healing.

Getting to the root of the

substance use disorder

and learning coping skills

to deal with it, is key to

successful long-lasting

sobriety.

Pillar 2:

Emotional Regulation

Topic Group Meetings are conducted to

enable you to self-regulate your

emotions by addressing different topics

that relate to your internal and external

environments.

Internally: Exploring the

emotional self and how you

perceive yourself. A journey of

emotional exploration, deep

diving into uncovering what you

feel and how you perceive

emotions. Develops better

emotional awareness.

Externally: Exploring the

external environment (people,

places, and things) that illicit

emotional responses in the self.

Address different socio-cultural

themes such as sexuality, family,

social standing, race, culture etc.

Pillar 4:

Choice of Action

To minimize relapse, we focus on providing

you with different targeted theoretical and

practical exercises to assist in developing a

healthier way of life and creating a better

relationship with yourself and your

environment.

Identify the different

internal and external

triggers and develop

coping strategies for

effective response.

Pillar 4:

Self Honesty

Self-honesty fosters trust, an internal sense

of safety and deeper connection with your

authentic self.

You will be given an opportunity

to write about a day in your life

during your active addiction and

reflect on how your life has

changed from the past to the

present, including where you see

yourself in the future.

Sharing your story honestly in a

group setting allows for

identification and connection

between you and your peers as

well as empowering you to speak

your truth as challenging as that

can be!

Pillar 6:

Assimilation & Acceptance

Evaluate both your and your peers'

strengths and challenges and based on the

feedback provided you are assigned a

specific goal that you need to attempt to

achieve as a form of self-improvement.

Develop effective

communication skills

with others in way that

is non-judgmental and

compassionate and

learn to receive

feedback without being

self-critical.

28-Day Intensive Program

We appreciate that you probably have tried many

things to get on top of your addiction. We are serious

about our approach to your healing and want you to

be as well.

This intensive program requires you to commit to a

28-day program of groups, personal sessions and at

home work.

We stand beside you, as key

members of your support

team, through the good

times and the tough times,

helping you help yourself to

live according to life’s terms.

We purposely keep

participant numbers small to

ensure that you receive the

attention and care that you

need.
