Step 2
On one of the circles, draw a heart shape and
your message into the felt using the pencil,
we've gone over ours in a marker pen so it
shows up. It's not always easy drawing an even
heart shape so if you want perfection create a
template on card to draw around first.
Step 3
You may need to ask a grown up to help with
needle work. Thread up the floss and stitch
over the heart and letters. You don't need to be
a good sewer to do this. Just go over the lines
we used a running stitch on the heart with big
gaps and closer backstitch on the letters so
there are no gaps.
Step 4
On the second circle stitch a brooch back on
the back and then join both circles together
with a small stitch using ordinary cotton
thread.

Callie is a budding
artist and throughout
lockdown has
produced some
fabulous works of art.
She also created a
wonderful puppet
earlier in the year.
Did you know that a
Ticklebug is the name of a
type of hand puppet. A
person uses their fingers to
make their hand look like
an animal.
The puppet Callie made is
called a rod puppet. This
type of puppet is worked
with rods around the
puppets arms and legs.

What is the show about?
talks about her favourite TV Programme 'The
Repair Shop'. The show is bound to inspire you to dabble in DIY and
upcycle some of your Nan's furniture! Check out weekly episodes

This programme is a craft and restoration programme where
members of the public can bring in items to be restored and
then revealed to them at the end of the process.
What do you like about it?

I like this programme because most of the items that are brought in are quite damaged and
old, meaning that they usually have a wonderful background story to them.
For example,
there have been items that were used in several different ways and have been handed down
through the generations. I also really like how you see how they are repaired and how
different items work. I find it really interesting.
What's the best bit?
My favourite part is when the restored items are revealed to the owners because their
reactions are so amazing, genuine and heartfelt. You can see how much it means to them.
How does 'The Repair Shop' make you feel?
This programme makes me feel intrigued as sometimes I want to try some of the different
trades that are shown. Also motivated to either produce/ restore an item.
Is there anything you dislike about the show?
I think the only thing I dislike is that they don’t necessarily show you the whole process as
are several different items in one show.

Who is the programme aimed at?
I would say that the show is mainly aimed at young adults and working adults because of the
trade element. However, I believe that it is a great programme for young people too.
