Options

Managing the care and development of young children requires all professionals

to meet child care training standards and licensing regulations. The work

completed inside vocational programs teaches students to properly handle the

responsibility of working with children. Various career and course options are

Depending on their career goals students are able to step into programs in

vocational colleges at the certificate, diploma, and associate's degree level.

Obtaining an education provides students with the opportunity to step into

accredited diploma programs expect students to complete around 35 to 60

credit hours and typically require students to complete some general education

courses. Course subjects may include project planning and diverse teaching.

Associate's degree programs give students a wide foundation where they train

for careers through both general and career-oriented courses. Topics may

include child abuse prevention, recreation, and child growth. Students work

through multiple courses that train them how to properly care for children.

*Child Safety

Children require constant attention and professionals will find themselves in

several situations where children will need specific care. Students learn about

emergency management and first aid, which are needed to obtain careers.

The patterns of development are taught to students through in-depth

discussions. The stages of development are focused on, which include physical,
