As usual, Kim Ellery Showcase a versatile wardrobe.
She built her brand arround restrained retro-futurism and bold
volumes. Powerful tailoring with an imaginative twist on proportions
is one of Ellery’s fortes.
After launching her collection 13 years ago, Kim felt that now was the
time to “take a step back and have a look at what I’ve done,” so she
decided to revisit her archival pieces.
For pre-fall 2020, Ellery worked to retain the essence of her aesthetic
while stripping away the superfluous.
The fashion show took place in a deserted place in Saint Moritz’s mountain,
provided a rarefied, meditative atmosphere. Wich inspired the attitude of
this pre-fall collection. She worked with a narrow range of colors : fresh
colors such as bright red and pink, brownish tones, a lot of black and a
bit of grey. Preserved her penchant for full-skirted, long dresses or strong
shoulders. A collection filled of feminin details : corsets, leather gloves and
architectural gold jewellery. Picking up on the mountain feel, relaxed
après-ski knit ensembles in wool mélange had a ’70s flair, with elongated
tunics worn over flared pants.
