Welcome to Rimini 2008, 

Sport for All Festival 

Dear partecipants, 

it is a great honor and a pleasure for me to invite you to “Rimini 

2008 - Csit World Sports Games”. We invite you to visit one of the 

Italian cities most welcoming, hoping that we will be able to meet your 

legitimate desires of friendship, solidarity and sports. During this event 

we will have the opportunity to share sporting emotions, to meet on fields with loyalty and 

fair play, to partecipate in moments of festivities. This will enable us to demonstrate our 

passion for sport for all, for a sport with each other and not against each other. Sport for 

all is a right for all citizens of the world, for women and man of all ages. As is the game, 

social integration and health these Games will be held during the celebrations of the 

60th anniversary of the Uisp! we decided to celebrate our anniversary with all those who 

are committed to promote sport for all values, we know that are shared by the member 

federations of the Csit. We have taken the responsability of organizing the “World games” 

knowing can count on your cooperation. With the commitment of hundreds of volunteers 

and our leaders, let’s face the challenge! 

The celebrations can begin, we are waiting for you.

CSIT, the Confédération Sportive Internationale du Travail, in co-operation with its 

national member UISP, Italian Sport for All Association, is very glad to welcome your 

organisation to the “CSIT WORLD SPORTS GAMES”, in Rimini (Adriatic Riviera) from 

Sunday 29th till Sunday 6th July, 2008. For the first time ever in history of CSIT, most of its 

major sport events will take place at the same time in the same city, with a value-added 

programme. A new way to promote sport for all, labour sport, amateur sport, throughout 

the world:12 international championships, training sessions and exchange of experience 

between sports (wo)men, coaches, referees, managers, playing sports in inter-nation 

team for fun, dancing and gymnastics shows and exhibitions, experimental tournament 

of football without referee, physical activities for seniors, entertainment thanks to the 

beaches. We are happy to announce the expected participation of about 3.500 sportsmen 

and sportswomen coming from various member organizations out of Europe, America, 

Africa and Asia. Thus…a major sport event for better human relations in a better world! 

We wish the great success of the event!

Csit World Sports Games are on the starting line. Finally this year it has been possible 

to organize a great party of sport for all, with 25.000 athletes coming from 25 different 

countries for a total of 12 international championships. 

For Csit sport is not just competition: it’s an important means of integration, solidarity 

and social inclusion. Sports events will be accompanied by concerts, cultural events and 

meetings about cooperation, intercultural dialogue and social cohesion: sports activities 

will joint social values. Medals will have just a symbolic value: the real goal is to promote 

cultural exchange between athletes, coming from all world: Europe, Mexico, Brazil, 

Senegal, Angola, Morocco, Algeria and India.
