The children are inclusive, kind and<br />
follow our school values. You can<br />
make excellent friends and have the<br />
opportunity to follow your dreams,<br />
believe in them and to achieve<br />
them.<br />
The teachers are unbelievably kind and are<br />
always supporting us. Even though<br />
Campbell is already the best, the staff are<br />
always trying to achieve more, they listen to<br />
parents and students and make sure their<br />
decisions benefit the school.Teachers also<br />
pack in some fun to everything that we do.<br />
We get so many opportunities;<br />
leadership groups, choir, Numero<br />
club, fitness club, interschool athletics<br />
and even a musical! We have lots of<br />
great technology including amazing<br />
interactive TVs, and a 1-1 iPad<br />
program for Years 4 to 6.<br />
Campbell has many great aspects<br />
but what keeps it number 1 is its<br />
thirst to get better and better, when<br />
it is already awesome!

We know that, in order to function effectively as<br />
life long learners, students must be at peace<br />
within themselves. The school works closely<br />
with all families to nurture students and support<br />
them through all of life’s challenges.<br />
We embrace mindful practices to support<br />
students to focus on the present, accept that<br />
mistakes are part of learning and that it is<br />
important to be kind to themselves and others.<br />
Our learning program aims to inspire students to achieve their academic, social and<br />
emotional potential through varied experiences that engage, excite and challenge.
Our high level of care, together with<br />
a balanced and seamless<br />
curriculum, enables students to<br />
progress in their lifelong learning<br />
journey. Learning experiences<br />
reflect their developmental stage.<br />
Students are also supported to recognise,<br />
monitor and take charge of their mental<br />
health and emotional regulation through the<br />
use of programs such as Highway Heroes,<br />
Zones of Regulation and daily Mindfulness<br />
sessions.<br />
Our school psychologist and Student<br />
Services Team work tirelessly to support all<br />
students and their families within our<br />
community.<br />
All staff use the iStar teaching and<br />
learning model to inspire students,<br />
show or model desired learning,<br />
support students to apply new<br />
concepts and review learning.<br />
Students welcome this explicit<br />
approach and use it to help them<br />
set individual goals for their<br />

Primary School.<br />
The school has embraced technology to support student learning with ready access to iPads,<br />
interactive TVs and laptops. All students in Year 4 to Year 6 are given the opportunity to<br />
participate in our BYOD program. This allows teachers to seamlessly integrate information and<br />
communication technology into learning activities across all areas of the curriculum. Students and<br />
staff love the vibrancy and immediacy of learning and feedback opportunities.
Science, Technology, Engineering and<br />
Mathematics (STEM)<br />
Campbell Primary<br />
School has two<br />
dedicated Science<br />
specialists.<br />
Students have opportunities to develop<br />
critical and ethical thinking skills through a<br />
variety of Scientific opportunities.<br />
All students from Pre-primary through to<br />
Year 6 attend Science lessons in a<br />
dedicated Science space. Year 6 students<br />
attend Science for an extended period<br />
each week in order to up-skill them as they<br />
move towards high school.<br />
The school has established strong<br />
connections with Curtin University through<br />
its STEMINIST program where Curtin<br />
students come and work alongside<br />
primary school students on a variety of<br />
projects. Upper primary students also<br />
have the opportunity to attend Canning<br />
Vale College for extension classes.<br />
All year levels are developing a range of<br />
projects that engage students in the STEM<br />
process within the integrated curriculum.<br />
Science, Technology, Engineering and<br />
Mathematics (STEM)
The Arts at Campbell Primary School<br />
Students are offered a raft of opportunities through<br />
the performing and visual Arts curriculum.<br />
Currently the school offers Music, Visual Art, and<br />
Drama and Dance at various stages throughout<br />
primary school. As well as classroom music,<br />
students may choose to participate in Choir and<br />
many students in Year 5 and Year 6 learn an<br />
instrument as part of the Instrumental Music in<br />
Schools Program. Year 6 students also participate in<br />
band at Canning Vale College. Technology is used<br />
throughout lessons to maximise student learning and<br />
enable students to become digital composers.<br />

such as Anzac Day,<br />

In Visual Art, students not only learn about<br />
the elements of artistic composition, they<br />
also collaborate to develop larger significant<br />
public works of art, including murals for the<br />
school and an amazing ceramic poppy<br />
display to commemorate Remembrance<br />
Day.<br />
In 2021, a school musical is being planned<br />
to further showcase the talents of students<br />
and provide students with an opportunity to<br />
integrate all aspects of the Arts into one<br />
performance.<br />

Campbell Primary has a strong commitment to health and well-being for all. The school is<br />
fortunate to have two highly skilled specialist teachers working in this area. Students take<br />
part in structured Physical Education classes each week where they learn skills and practise<br />
these in a mini games format.<br />
They also have access to a wide range of equipment for use at all break times. Students<br />
regularly take part in interschool carnivals with an emphasis on maximum participation and<br />
sportsmanship.<br />
I love sport as I get to learn lots of<br />
new sports I haven't played before.<br />
I get to learn and practise lots of<br />
new skills in a variety of sports.

School strives to<br />
create links with the<br />
community.<br />
Campbell Primary School creates strong links with the community through initiatives such as:<br />
mentorship of pre service teachers, work skills placements for high school students, a<br />
cohesive support system for students at educational risk, a robust Partnerships with Parents<br />
program and clear connections with local high schools and external service providers. The<br />
School Board has informed representation from tertiary education, health professionals,<br />
cultural groups, parents and staff members. The Parents and Citizens Association is<br />
committed to raising funds to ensure that Campbell Primary School students benefit from the<br />
latest innovations in equipment and resourcing to support lifelong learning.
