Campbell Primary School?
Everything is
great about
Campbell PS.
The children are inclusive, kind and
follow our school values. You can
make excellent friends and have the
opportunity to follow your dreams,
believe in them and to achieve
them.
The teachers are unbelievably kind and are
always supporting us. Even though
Campbell is already the best, the staff are
always trying to achieve more, they listen to
parents and students and make sure their
decisions benefit the school.Teachers also
pack in some fun to everything that we do.
We get so many opportunities;
leadership groups, choir, Numero
club, fitness club, interschool athletics
and even a musical! We have lots of
great technology including amazing
interactive TVs, and a 1-1 iPad
program for Years 4 to 6.
Campbell has many great aspects
but what keeps it number 1 is its
thirst to get better and better, when
it is already awesome!

We actively
welcome every
aspect of each
individual student.
We know that, in order to function effectively as
life long learners, students must be at peace
within themselves. The school works closely
with all families to nurture students and support
them through all of life’s challenges.
We embrace mindful practices to support
students to focus on the present, accept that
mistakes are part of learning and that it is
important to be kind to themselves and others.
Our learning program aims to inspire students to achieve their academic, social and
emotional potential through varied experiences that engage, excite and challenge.

Our high level of care, together with
a balanced and seamless
curriculum, enables students to
progress in their lifelong learning
journey. Learning experiences
reflect their developmental stage.
Students are also supported to recognise,
monitor and take charge of their mental
health and emotional regulation through the
use of programs such as Highway Heroes,
Zones of Regulation and daily Mindfulness
sessions.
Our school psychologist and Student
Services Team work tirelessly to support all
students and their families within our
community.
All staff use the iStar teaching and
learning model to inspire students,
show or model desired learning,
support students to apply new
concepts and review learning.
Students welcome this explicit
approach and use it to help them
set individual goals for their
learning.

A wealth of
opportunities awaits
students at Campbell
Primary School.
The school has embraced technology to support student learning with ready access to iPads,
interactive TVs and laptops. All students in Year 4 to Year 6 are given the opportunity to
participate in our BYOD program. This allows teachers to seamlessly integrate information and
communication technology into learning activities across all areas of the curriculum. Students and
staff love the vibrancy and immediacy of learning and feedback opportunities.

Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics (STEM)
Campbell Primary
School has two
dedicated Science
specialists.
Students have opportunities to develop
critical and ethical thinking skills through a
variety of Scientific opportunities.
All students from Pre-primary through to
Year 6 attend Science lessons in a
dedicated Science space. Year 6 students
attend Science for an extended period
each week in order to up-skill them as they
move towards high school.
The school has established strong
connections with Curtin University through
its STEMINIST program where Curtin
students come and work alongside
primary school students on a variety of
projects. Upper primary students also
have the opportunity to attend Canning
Vale College for extension classes.
All year levels are developing a range of
projects that engage students in the STEM
process within the integrated curriculum.
Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics (STEM)

The Arts at Campbell Primary School
Students are offered a raft of opportunities through
the performing and visual Arts curriculum.
Currently the school offers Music, Visual Art, and
Drama and Dance at various stages throughout
primary school. As well as classroom music,
students may choose to participate in Choir and
many students in Year 5 and Year 6 learn an
instrument as part of the Instrumental Music in
Schools Program. Year 6 students also participate in
band at Canning Vale College. Technology is used
throughout lessons to maximise student learning and
enable students to become digital composers.
Students have
opportunities to
share their learning
and celebrate the
power of music
through activities
such as Anzac Day,
Massed Choir
Festival, Evening
on the Green and
Assemblies.
In Visual Art, students not only learn about
the elements of artistic composition, they
also collaborate to develop larger significant
public works of art, including murals for the
school and an amazing ceramic poppy
display to commemorate Remembrance
Day.
In 2021, a school musical is being planned
to further showcase the talents of students
and provide students with an opportunity to
integrate all aspects of the Arts into one
performance.

Health and Physical Education
Sport is so
much fun and
I love we get
to be active.
Campbell Primary has a strong commitment to health and well-being for all. The school is
fortunate to have two highly skilled specialist teachers working in this area. Students take
part in structured Physical Education classes each week where they learn skills and practise
these in a mini games format.
They also have access to a wide range of equipment for use at all break times. Students
regularly take part in interschool carnivals with an emphasis on maximum participation and
sportsmanship.
I love sport as I get to learn lots of
new sports I haven't played before.
I get to learn and practise lots of
new skills in a variety of sports.

Strength Within Our Community
Campbell Primary
School strives to
create links with the
community.
Campbell Primary School creates strong links with the community through initiatives such as:
mentorship of pre service teachers, work skills placements for high school students, a
cohesive support system for students at educational risk, a robust Partnerships with Parents
program and clear connections with local high schools and external service providers. The
School Board has informed representation from tertiary education, health professionals,
cultural groups, parents and staff members. The Parents and Citizens Association is
committed to raising funds to ensure that Campbell Primary School students benefit from the
latest innovations in equipment and resourcing to support lifelong learning.
