today's day and age, and how you can wear
them on a budget

Over the past year, many 90s fashion trends have
resurfaced as new and improved. A cause of this
may be the recent obsession with watching old
tv shows, which include style icons such as Jennifer
Aniston. Also, people that were "90s babies" tend to look
back on their childhood and become nostalgic over the
old style. Models including Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid
have popularized this way of style, which meant that
people were inspired to dress the same way. These outfits
can be found on their social medias, and all over
Pinterest. They share tips on creating that "street style
look" while still dressing flatteringly. One of these casual
outfits consists of baggy mom jeans, which can be
ripped, and paired with either a tight fit baby tee or an
over sized shirt. Also, cargo pants with a v-neck sweater is
another popular option. A fancier outfit would include a
slip dress, blazer, or slip skirt paired with a corset top. The
key to making the outfit stand out is by accessorizing with
a claw hair clip, a pair of small framed sunglasses, and
with a baguette bag. Also, having multiple piercings
including cartilage piercings with big hoops are essential.
Taking a casual approach on shoes would be Reebok
Classics, Nike Air Jordans, Converse, Tretorns, or Doc
Martens. Fancy shoes were mainly strapped heals, and
platform sandals. There are affordable stores like Forever
21 and Walmart, and online stores such as Amazon, that
offer affordable clothing and accessories to capture this
style.
Also, shopping at the local thrift store is a great way
to save money and the environment. The best
section to look in is the men's section, because it has
lots of vintage jeans and button down shirts that are
perfect for cropping. However, if these options are
still too pricey, there is always the option to DIY,
meaning "do it yourself." An example of this would be
tying a shoe lace around the loops of jeans to create
a makeshift belt. Also, another jeans tip is taking a
cheese grater or razor and creating rips in them. In
the 90s, it was common to cut the bottoms of jeans
too. Some people even bleached them, however, this
requires gloves to ensure complete safety. A plain
white shirt can easily be tie dyed and cropped.
Another option is asking your parents if they saved
any of their clothes from when they were younger. It
is common for them to have saved flannels, which
can be tied around the waist, or layered over a
graphic tee-shirt. Also, old bandanas can be tied and
used as crop tops. By combining clothing pieces from
the 90s and ones that are trendy today, people are
able to create their signature style. Also, using the
DIY and money saving tips mentioned, people are
able to dress the way they want without breaking the
bank. The recent rise of social media has provided
resources for fashion inspiration, such as Pinterest
and Instagram. Now, there is no excuse not to
express yourself through unique clothing.
