NETFLIX ON THE COAST

- Celebrity Spotting ahoy!

A new Netflix television series starring Toni Collette began filming on the peninsular on February 27th, with a 6 day shoot at Ettalong Beach Netball

courts. The popular streaming service will continue its production of “pieces of Her”, an eight-part American thriller drama. The production began

filming at McMasters beach in February with the crew also setting up at Kincumber’s Frost reserve on February 21st. The crew also went to Ocean

Beach surf lifesaving club as well as Umina Beach’s Margarita Daze for 3 days. The story is about Andrea (Collette), who is caught up in a mass

shooting at a local diner with her mother Laura. She witnesses Laura violently dispose of the shooter and soon after, video footage of the incident

becomes a viral hit, exposing Laura’s identity to her past enemies. Andrea is forced to escape, whilst on that journey, attempts to piece together the

real truths her mother had fought so hard to conceal. The story is based on the eponymous 2018 novel by Karin Slaughter and will also feature Lord

of the Rings actor David Wenham and Moulin Rouge’s Richard Roxburgh.

LEAGUES CLUB PARK OFFICIAL OPENING - Ride that Slide!

The New Leagues Club Park is open on the

Gosford foreshore. The opening took place on

February 27th, after more than 12 months of

revamping. Speculation had been steadily

mounting in anticipation for the opening and

reveal of the new park. There had been much

speculation about what the park would be like

and how it would turn out.

Construction started in November 2019 and plans where made about the park with Rob Stroke from Hunter and Central Coast Development

Corporation (HCCDC). Now the state governments $10 million park is finally complete and open for family’s and people both to enjoy together. The

opening event was a huge success. There were food trucks, aboriginal displays, musical presentations, face painting, discovery trail and reptile

show. The free community event was held from 10am till 4pm and many of the community turned out. It was a huge success. The Darkinjung Local

Aboriginal Land Council played an integral part in the park's design. Local Aboriginal culture has been embedded into the site's cultural heart; a

circular gathering space formed by large timber poles. These are adorned with stunning designs by a local artist and will create a unique space for

the community to gather, relax and learn.
