INTERACTIVE DANCE FILM: (Re)United

TUESDAY 20th 18.00

(Re)United is a heartwarming short interactive dance film.

Highlighting the strength of family connectivity; witness the anticipation, joy, fear

and excitement leading up to the moment siblings reunite after being separated for

over half of their lives. Witness how connectivity is not limited to the physical, but

can be held together through love and hope. Directed by award-winning filmmaker

Antoine Marc, produced and performed by award-winning dancers Kristina and

Sadé Alleyne.

Director Statement

Directing the new film (Re)United was such a fascinating journey because of the

powerful themes and the chosen way to display the work, allowing viewers to select

which path they would like to experience first.

The film is set as a digital creation, dividing into two separate journeys joined by the

desire to find the other. It deals with separation and the search of inner completion.

Each character is represented through their own colours and film aesthetic. One

being in control and stable. The other one free, handheld living in the moment.

With the original concept created by Alleyne Dance, my goal was to utilise film to

create intimacy between siblings that have been disrupted, due to a separation at

an early age. Internal conflicts scattered throughout the film triggers remembrance,

lost memories, from the other. All the clues in the film inspire a journey that leads to

the poetry of a final moment, where they found each other again but now within a

divided space as life brought them apart.
