Dear Cristo Rey Family,<br />
One year ago, Cristo Rey Philadelphia temporarily shuttered its doors as a result of the<br />
coronavirus. As time went on, it became clear that the p<strong>and</strong>emic was not going away<br />
quickly, posing many new challenges <strong>and</strong> disruptions for our families <strong>and</strong> alumni.<br />
During this unprecedented time, we turned to our community of supporters for help<br />
<strong>and</strong> were humbled by the outpouring of generosity. You stepped up in an incredible<br />
way, donating $140,000 to our <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Emergency</strong> <strong>Fund</strong> for Cristo Rey families<br />
<strong>and</strong> alumni.<br />
Our School Counseling <strong>and</strong> College Counseling Teams worked one-on-one with<br />
families <strong>and</strong> alumni who were struggling with financial hardships to provide them<br />
with targeted support from the <strong>Fund</strong> based on their needs. Because of your kindness,<br />
we can continue to ensure that the basic needs of our students <strong>and</strong> alumni are met<br />
so they can continue to pursue their educational opportunities <strong>and</strong> stay focused<br />
on learning.<br />

The p<strong>and</strong>emic has outlasted everyone’s initial<br />
expectations with a heartbreaking impact on our<br />
community. Because of you, we were able to support<br />
our community through this past year <strong>and</strong> will<br />
continue to support them in 2021. This spring, we<br />
will help seniors with their college deposits, send<br />
more gift cards to families in need, <strong>and</strong> support<br />
alumni with emergency expenses.
