Dear Cristo Rey Family, One year ago, Cristo Rey Philadelphia temporarily shuttered its doors as a result of the coronavirus. As time went on, it became clear that the pandemic was not going away quickly, posing many new challenges and disruptions for our families and alumni. During this unprecedented time, we turned to our community of supporters for help and were humbled by the outpouring of generosity. You stepped up in an incredible way, donating $140,000 to our Community Emergency Fund for Cristo Rey families and alumni. Our School Counseling and College Counseling Teams worked one-on-one with families and alumni who were struggling with financial hardships to provide them with targeted support from the Fund based on their needs. Because of your kindness, we can continue to ensure that the basic needs of our students and alumni are met so they can continue to pursue their educational opportunities and stay focused on learning. The pandemic has outlasted everyone’s initial expectations with a heartbreaking impact on our community. Because of you, we were able to support our community through this past year and will continue to support them in 2021. This spring, we will help seniors with their college deposits, send more gift cards to families in need, and support alumni with emergency expenses.
