LUXE
Inspired by a Group of Seven painting,
Ilona Kauremszky explores the golden
days of summer that await at Muskoka’s
newest grand hotel – Red Leaves.
Muskoka
When Ken Fowler of Prudhomme’s Landing and Alice Fazooli’s
fame, was a kid at summer camp, he used to enjoy skipping rocks
across Lake Rosseau while watching the mighty Segwun (now North
America’s oldest operating steamship) sail by. With his camp mates
in tow, they lived to canoe, fish, hike, catch frogs and dream under
the stars.
Little did Mr. Fowler know then that years later this prime piece
of real estate would inspire a new dream. His latest venture, Red
Leaves, is Muskoka’s newest luxe resort complex, which promises
to make you feel like a kid again.
His son Peter, co-founder, says his father’s dream was to give
people the opportunity to really experience Muskoka. “The
wonderful thing about Muskoka is that all those things dad did
60 years ago are still there,” he proudly states, describing the
566-hectare (1,400-acre) year-round playground facility.
