FOREWORD
2020 brought changes in my artistic career, all my concerts, flights and festivals were
canceled. I couldn't find a way to earn a living from my musical adventures. So I
started a project meant to be presented a master's degree at the Royal Academy of
Arts in the Netherlands. a movement that would inspire new creative ideas that
include science, art and technology, a business model that today can be a grain of
sand but that in the future would undoubtedly be an important solution for the
economic development of Mersin!
PROLOGUE
Engelbert Gabriel Hernandez Rodriguez is a filmmaker, singer, songwriter,
entertainer, and tour guide from Venezuela. He is known as Gatto Gabriel. His songs
are published on all music platforms in the world, written in English, Spanish, Turkish
and Dutch.
Gatto is an associated member of the Latin Grammy Academy. Winner of the ELA
awards in Koln Germany, Nominated to the Music Maters Award, with multiple
mentions on CNN TURK, and other Turkish news for the creation of tourism and
adventure Video clips in Mersin,
He is the founder of GATTORECORDS - MT&A COMPANY with a large number of
tours to festivals such as:
EXIT, SEASTAR, ZOMERCARNAVAL, POLEPOLE, ANTILLIAANSE-FEST, MERSIN-
MARATHON, INTERNATIONAL MERSIN ART, and many more in Benelux, The
caribbean Souh America, and Eurasia.

THEME OF THE
BOOK
This book is about a challenge that I have
wanted to conquer for a long time, it is
the unwritten odyssey of a great
adventure in a place full of stories and
legends such as, The Crusades, The
Ottoman Empire, The Story of Roldan,
the Maiden's Castle and many more. At
the same time, it is a great model of
sustainable tourism and technology
business for Mersin. This city is a
treasure that I have to take advantage of,
since it is located right in front of Cyprus
and where I have so many people who
believe in me, in short, it is my
opportunity to do something greater
than myself.
With this project, I hope to win and
bring honor to the people of Mersin
and be part of one of the many stories
of the sea that united Africa, Asia and
Europe as the first windsurfer to cross
"Our Sea" or the Mediterranean Sea.

SUMMERIAN'S
INTRODUCTION
On one of my trips to Turkey, After
my concert at Mersin University, I
felt this exciting need to do
something bigger in that country.
It’s good to live the artist’s dream,
play music, go on tours, and enjoy
teamwork, but I had to do
something bigger than myself, to
make more sense of what I was
doing. I believe it is the inheritance
of our heavenly father to Imagine
create, deserve, sacrifice and enjoy.
And it happened that as I was
walking down the boulevard,
looking at the golden sparks that
you normally see in the sea, I was
spellbound for a while and felt as if
I could cross the water over that
endless line of lights.
I was wondering how far the other
side would be and what was there,
and I had an epiphany where I
found myself on a world adventure
sailing away from it all on a
challenge no one else did before,
something like a world record!
I thought I will need a lot of friends,
especially because it will be a nice
adventure to enjoy with other
people but also because it will be
very difficult to do alone.
So I created this book to show you
an idea and ask you to join us!

I belong to a tribe of adventurers for life, passionate about art,
music and travel. I am fed by the adrenaline of extreme
activities in the wild nature, my house is where the sunset falls
to the enchanted heat of a bonfire on the beach.
Summer is the time of year when I feel like an element and
can’t stop my ideas to come out and make them happen.
I believe God put me in this world for some reason and I can’t
wait to know what it is!
So for this project, I want to call myself “Summerian”

I first came to Turkey in 2007, where I gave
music performances at universities, dance
schools and festivals. Over time, I found
family and felt loved on the streets of
Mersin. This great and beautiful city has
friendly people with amazing hospitality. Its
mysterious ancient history and Its
monuments are magnificent. The food
Climate and the beautiful Mediterranean
are the centers of attraction for music,
travel and adventure tourism. therefore and
for 1000 other reasons Mersin is a place for
this summer project.

I have some wonderful summerians friends
here who can really make this work,
in addition to the support of students from
schools and universities, entrepreneurs that
I have known for more than ten years,
television channels and a whole
multicultural social movement of dancers
who are willing to dance with me.

Let's set a world record and use it to help to heal the
planet by using the power of music, tourism ecology
and sports. With this sustainable idea, we will go
beyond the arts to share awareness and resonate
with the world in such a way that the world will do
the same alchemy.

The Idea

SHORT
Gatto Gabriel, the South American artist who
got Mersin on MTV Artists, Vevo and other
music channels, is back for the adventure of a
lifetime, In the Summer of 2021, The
Summerian will begin the journey from
Scheveningen Den Haag to Mersin
challenging himself to set a personal world
record, crossing the Mediterranean from
Northern Cyprus to Kiskalesi Castle in
Turkey, while a team of Film-Makers will
record a documentary and music video clip.
Upon arrival, he plans on giving a concert to
give credit to all volunteers and grant
mention plaques to all sponsors and crew on
Kiskalesi beach. To conclude the challenge
Gatto will announce his next project to the
press.
If we succeed and reach Kizkalesi Castle, I
will celebrate with lots of fireworks a big
BBQ on the beach the next morning!

This project will be filmed in 360 VR format.
6.5K in virtual reality in order to reach a goal
of 4,000,000 viewers and clicks by June 21,
2022, implementing the sustainable YouTube
business model, "monetize" ultimately to
reach the International news and pitch the
documentary to the Netflix network.

During this process I will be recording
a documentary / VIDEO CLIP in 360
VR, 5.6K, A drone will record aerial
images, I will install underwater action
cameras on my board and sail, and for
professional filming, I will have a
camera team on board the security
boat.
I want to have a DJ playing music and
entertaining the crew, the food and
drinks will be sufficient and fresh.
We will have a doctor, a coast guard,
and a small logistics staff, a satellite
phone, and a radio. to control all
filming operations and live broadcasts.

We are producing the Summerian's
Challenge theme song to be played on
all platforms, in Mersin and around the
world!
This video will leave a documented
mark to be seen virtually in 360
degrees, but most importantly, we will
show the world a new destination and
a new way to travel.
All this is possible, we have all the tools
and passion to make this happen!

THE REASON FOR
THE VIDEO IN THE
PROJECT
Some municipalities pay around € 50,000
a year for conventions, flyers and online
advertising, but people hate ads, they
skip them after two seconds and it's a
shame that such hard work turns into a
waste of money and even worse, nobody
cares!
Now! think of this solution:
suppose we had Daddy Yankee making a
video in Mersin, like the hit Despacito,
we would have brought Mersin more
than 7 Billion views. Look at Puerto
Rico's growth rate after this video.
Now imagine making $ 1,500 per million
views and the tourism we will attract to
travel to places that are in our clips and
undeveloped destinations like
KIZKALESI, making money every hour,
every day, every year...
FINANCIAL LOGIC
We want to record the entire challenge on
video and we want to publish it on
platforms like Vevo, GoPro Video, Vimeo,
Youtube, IGTV, Facebook, in order to make
profit with the views.
We artists love to promote all our audiovisual
content to a potential travel
audience, they will consume it not as an
advertisement but as a clip that can be
shared.
Most likely these clips will become type of
virtual travel as people get used to this
technology. Without a doubt, this is a good
opportunity to get started.

words into action. I want to inspire my people
to do this project with me, everyone who has
an idea or wants to help with their strength or
influence is welcome, especially for those who
can inspire another person too, to live this

Going from Cyprus to Turkey on
windsurfing is a great challenge and
it will be a World Record.
But it is time to put our words into practice.
Since 2017 we have wanted to do this in
Mersin! and the reason is easy. No one has
ever crossed the mediterranean sea on a
sailboard it is a realistic action to advertise our
city and present our scenarios to virtual
travelers.

EIGHT
ADVENTURES
As an adventurer and traveling musician, I have
been many times at sea, collecting amazing
stories, here are some of my real-life adventures
written in the scrapbooks of my life.
"A dreamer makes his way while walking lives to

I was born on the shores of the 30
Caribbean Sea of Venezuela.
But I always lived on the beach This
are a few of my favorite:
La Guaira, Isla Margarita, The
Paraguaná Peninsula, La Vela de Coro,
Chichiriviche, Tarpon Springs,
Scheveningen Den Haag.
MY FIRST
INSPIRATION
In La Vela De Coro,
Venezuela my father
organized international
events, concerts, carnivals
and regattas, I remember
that once he organized the
Simón Bolívar regatta from
Curaçao to Venezuela
and I saw for the first time
the excitement of surfers
going from one country to
another on a small
surfboard in the open sea
with the danger of sharks
and storms and I loved it.

I WON MY FIRST NATIONAL REGATTA THE "ARMADA CUP" IN
THE NAVY BASE, AGUSTÍN ARMARIO, IN PUERTO CABELLO
VENEZUELA, MY BROTHER OBTAINED SECOND PLACE AND
MY TEACHER WON THE MASTER CLASS.
After many races and training, I enrolled in the VENEZUELAN
SAILING FEDERATION FVV in the open category of Windsurfing. In
1994 and the director of the federation, Sandor Kratochvil, invited
us to BONAIRE SAILING REGATTA.

I made 11th place in an international pre-
Olympic race of the BONAIRE SAILING
REGATTA, this was my inspiration to
travel and document and discover new
horizons and show them to the world.
I traveled with the Venezuelan navy
team on the T-64 Los Llanos NAVY
warship with the best sailors in the
country, in this competition I was
ranked 11th out of 52 competitors
now I consider myself lucky but at
that time I stopped running
professionally but I never forgot my
sport.
I regret not being able to record this
important event. that incredible
adventure, all I have today are
newspaper articles and some other
memorabilia and since then I have been
recording all the things I do,
Not having any photo of my regatta
in Bonaire awakened the need to
document the things I do, not only for
myself but also for those who seek
some form of inspiration to make
their own history.

The captain of the catamaran "Austria"
with his wife that he had just met in a port
in Venezuela worked on trips to the bay of
Chichiriviche, I volunteered as a sailor in
the trade of selling tours and sail away!

On the beach we met three French tourists, and I told them
about a unique and virgin place, I made them imagine sailing an
incredible adventure, the sailboat was beautiful, it had beds
inside, food and drinks for the three days that the trip would last.
latest. Finally, I made them pay the money and the next morning
we started sailing to Isla AVES, a desert island in the Caribbean,
without knowing the surprise that awaited us
from the helm it is so beautiful to see the dark blue
of the waters and the sandy colors of the sail, the
ship had a ned in the middle of the bow, where the
captain's girl and the other woman on board found
a place to tan Naked, the captain and the others
made me keep my attention on the GPS
coordinates, with their loud talks and laughter,
drinking rum and beer from Venezuela.
We had slow winds but advancing, the horizon was only the
Caribbean Sea, I called the entire crew to see a structure of the land,
and there was ISLA AVES. We arrived, said the captain and we
dropped anchor directly in the sand and we met the Sotavento
fishermen, they stay there for days collecting fish to sell and trade, so
we ate the freshest fish in the world like no other, they even cooked it
with lemon and beer. I tried to call my girlfriend in Chichiriviche to say
that I arrived safe but I had no reception, so I relaxed and that night
we stayed until dawn talking, dancing and drinking until we could not
continue, I had to fall asleep listening to the sounds of the captain
and his girl doing their thing...
The next morning, I
found the hottest
sun of my life,
everyone was on
the beach, I swam
and did free diving,
more than 15
meters of clarity in
the coral reef, at
the end of the day
we ate unlimited
lobsters with garlic
cream. . and fish
that the captain
exchanged for
cigarettes, rum,
rice. It was like a
dream, that's what
I offered to tourists
that everyone
loved it . a really
wonderful trip. We
really wanted more
and more, so we
decided to stay one
more day before
heading back to the
coast of Venezuela.

WE SAID GOODBYE TO THE LITTLE PARADISE AND STARTED SAILING
TOWARDS SOTAVENTO, THE LARGEST PART OF ISLA AVES,
The captain set the course of the trip and
asked me to take the helm while he went
to take a nap, I was very excited to get to
the next place so I pulled the sail to catch
the stronger wind and improve the
heading, but a small drizzle that fell turned
into a gust of wind that hit us very fast.

The side of the catamaran began to climb up, I
tried to accommodate with the rudder to let air
through but one of the mast wires broke. I
watched everything in slow motion as the sail
broke at the root, ripping all the cables, and by
centimeters almost killed the girls. The wind
blew like crazy and between shouts of rage the
captain tried to call the coast guard for help
but the radio was destroyed ,. In a minute, the
wind completely calmed down leaving
everything calm and the sun shone on the
whole boat without its mast and we saw each
other's faces and we were glad to be alive.
We were all confused trying to see how we
could recover the sail from the water that
seemed impossible, and radio communications
were null, after a while we saw a boat coming
towards us, someone saw us, we thought, but
no!, According to the guard Coastal, they got a
MAYDAY, MAYDAY, call for help, someone else
was supposed to have been in trouble because
our radio broke and we didn't have time to call
for help. but no one paid a lot of attention to
that little miracle, However, thanks to GOD
someone apparently saw what happened and
we weren't the only boat in the area so we
didn't ask any more questions, they helped us
load the sail into the boat and go back to
Venezuela,
The captain said we had to continue with
our 15 horsepower engine, all the way to
Bonaire, we can fix the mast there going
back to Venezuela will take lots of time and
money.
So we set out for a cruise of more than 12
hours while adjusting the catamaran route
without GPS, we got to Kralendijk, guided by
the salt pyramids, we arrived without saying a
word, entering the island slowly, getting off and
we all went to the first bar we found and thank
God again to get back to the port,
The next day the three tourists asked us for
half the money, they took a taxi to the airport
and flew back to Venezuela, the captain, his
wife and I stayed to repair the boat but also
enjoyed the time waiting for a repaired sail.
And finally, the crane came and returned the
sail, we could not fix the radar and lights, but
the radio was on and we could sail again, oh,
yes!
Last night we spent it in Klein Bonaire Bay,
and I swam at night to see the Sunset Beach
Hotel where I used to stay at one of my
regattas, unfortunately, the place was
completely closed and deserted.
Before dawn we were already on our way to
the open sea, we turned on the GPS and set
our waypoints to Chichiriviche, we had good
winds and we went sailing for 14 hours, it
began to get dark faster than we thought and it
would be a challenge to enter the bay because
we had no lights or radar, but we didn't want
to spend one more night on the water so we
took the stupid dumb risk.
There are many keys and coral reefs, shallow
waters, we can easily sink, crash and have an
even bigger accident, in fact, we could die in the
waves of the reefs of Cayo Muerto, Cayo
Borracho or Cayo Sal, so as soon as I was able
to communicate, I called my father and my
brother to tell them that we do not see the bay
well, but we are already entering, I had the
feeling that we almost collided with the reefs,
the moment of truth arrived, I saw the palm
trees very close and I knew Where was it,
and where the corals were, then I saw the lights
of my town, my brother said on the radio, do
you see us? look at the flashing lights, this is us,
he said! A lot of friends were there on the shore
waiting for us at my dad's dock, little by little we
entered without a scratch, we didn't celebrate
until we dropped anchor, my girl jumped on
the water to greet me with a kiss and all my
friends laughed at us, the captain entered his
boat, and my brother started the party, where I
had to tell the story, again.
So I started by saying: we had a
miracle, we had adventures, we had
fun, we crossed the Caribbean, but
the best thing about this trip was
finding everyone here, where the
greatest adventure of my life is!
