Welcome to The Ledbury Promoter, the magazine where you can
advertise your business/event or anything of interest. Anybody can
advertise, as long as your business is in Ledbury or in the surrounding
areas such as Colwall, Bosbury, Newent, Dymock, Tarrington… you
get the idea.
So why have we started the magazine? Good question, I’m asking
myself the same thing… giving myself more work to do? Well, it
started last year, during the first lockdown caused by the “5G Network
Virus” … my girlfriend, now fiancé (this happened during the third lockdown, or was it
the second? Anyway I drifted, where was I?) oh yes… my girlfriend was struggling to get her
posts accepted or seen on Facebook, even though she tried to do what Facebook liked by
posting photos and videos, the analytics of Facebook only liked the big players.
So, I created a Ledbury group “The Promoter”. Instantly I had people sending messages
saying it was a great idea, which made me come up with the plan to write a monthly
magazine, make a ton of money and retire at fifty… only kidding I thought about
launching a magazine because I felt like Ledbury needed a network of businesses to help
each other. The idea is to create friendly competition to help drive you the reader, to the pubs,
shops, events or any other business that advertises with us. One method (which I am excited
to see how it works) is I will create QR codes in the magazine for businesses who want to
advertise by giving discounts for the month.
For example, I will test it first with my fiancé’s business, on page 6 is a QR code linked to a
discount for this months edition, the QR code (when scanned by her) will give you a
discounted price for when you get a gel manicure and pedicure in May, so come on lads get a
booking in! This will also be available for any other business in the June edition, let me
know what discount or voucher you’re prepared to do, maybe a free drink with every meal,
5% off burgers, 10% off orders £30 and over or anything you can think of. I will then
generate a QR code for your business, then when our readers come to you, take a photo of
the code to apply it.
Anyway, enough rambling from me! I hope you enjoy the magazine. Please subscribe on our
website to receive an email each month to notify you when we release each edition. The look
of the magazine and website will most likely change over time, in the meantime I would
really appreciate some feedback, negative or positive. And finally, please review us 5 stars on
Facebook and google.
I will leave you now to scan through the magazine which in the future will comprise more
local news and world news (good news only), local businesses/events, get your QR code
discounts, games/puzzles and starting off with our very own page 3 model… which we are
hoping to keep in every edition thanks to Cookie Cartoonery who have kindly agreed to do a
page 3 each month with a different cartoon. So no, it’s not the page 3 model you were
expecting, but I reckon our Dodgy Herefordshire Hedgehog might lift a few spirits.

Upcoming event:
Eastnor Bowls Club will be holding their Open
Day on Sunday 23rd May from 2pm. All very
welcome, our open day is the ideal opportunity
to try the game of bowls. Please wear flat
shoes and bring a mask.
All equipment will be provided. Members will
be available to help and
support new bowlers.
There will be a bar and
BBQ plus stalls.
