The education centre offers primary and secondary
tuition in core subjects.
Looking for additional support to help your child
improve their English and Maths skills? They’ll be
in safe hands at Kip McGrath Potters Bar.
The centre offers both face-to-face and online
sessions, which has allowed us to still reach over
100 children a week during the Covid crisis.
Kip McGrath Education Centres provide specialist
tutoring in Maths and English for students aged six to
eighteen, covering all areas of both subjects up to and
including A Level.
They understand the many and varied challenges
that youngsters face on their academic journey.
Kip McGrath’s fully trained and qualified teachers
create a positive learning environment that makes
achievement natural and boosts self-esteem, giving
students the confidence to learn.
A free assessment is conducted with every student to
identify strengths and weaknesses, so an individually
tailored learning programme can be designed.
Each session offers a mixture of computer and paper
activities, with students receiving one-to-one tuition
with the teacher and independent learning time, to
consolidate new skills and build confidence.
The centre also provides specialist support
programmes for GCSE, A Level, 11+, SATs and exam
preparation.

HELPING CHILDREN THRIVE ACADEMICALLY
Founded in 1976, Kip McGrath has been helping
primary and secondary school aged children across
the world to improve or extend their learning. The
Potters Bar centre opened in 2004 and has helped
hundreds of students achieve their potential.
As well as academic development, Kip McGrath aims
to enhance children’s self-confidence and establish
good foundations on which to build on.
One example of how the centre at Potters Bar has
helped to improve self-confidence and academic
development, includes a Year 10 student who was
struggling in both English and Maths and had low selfesteem,
holding the student back from making further
progress and negatively affecting their schooling
experience. Within weeks of joining Kip McGrath, the
student’s confidence “blossomed”, as described by the
centre’s tutors. They became more focused and began
to develop a more positive attitude to their learning
and started to believe that they could succeed. By the
time they sat their mocks in January of this year, they
had progressed three levels in their GCSE grading – a
wonderful achievement in just 4 months.
Another student, in Year 6, who attends Kip McGrath
for support in English has made “huge progress and
improvement” during their time at the centre. Their
comprehension skills have increased significantly,
strengthening learning and progression across all
subjects, not just English and is now working at age.
