Introduction
Davao City is a melting pot of various cultures and peoples, is also
the business and investment hub of Mindanao. The wealth of
business opportunities here is as diverse and eclectic as the
various peoples that call Davao City home.
Davao City consists of the ridge to reef areas which cover 244,000
hectares of the city's total land area. The city is politically
subdivided into 182 Barangays, distributed among 10 districts and
3 congressional districts. It is bounded by the Province of Davao
del Sur in the South; the Province of Davao del Norte in the North;
the Province of North Cotabato in the West and in the East by the
shores of the Davao Gulf.
As the biggest urban market among the Philippines' focus areas in
the growth polygon of Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East
ASEAN (BIMP-EAGA), Davao City continues to soar with its
constant urban development projects, outstanding security
programs, and favorable business climate.
This Annual Report 2020 is a summary of the activities
implemented and the accomplishments of the City Government
amidst the public health crisis brought about by the Coronavirus
Disease or COVID-19. This also shows how we remained resilient
despite the tribulations and adversities that we faced as a city. This
only proves that Davao City and the Davaoeños will not break.

INFRASTRUCTURE & UTILITIES
To provide Davao City with adequate, relevant and efficient infrastructure support
facilities, utilities, and urban basic services in order to attain the socio-economic
upliftment of its citizenry within the framework of sustainable development.
The delivery of urban basic services is primarily the responsibility of the city
government. Basic services include the provision of water, electricity, public
transportation and sanitation facilities (drainage, sewerage, toilet, garbage collection
and disposal).
