day to day life
For years I have been roaming the area of my hometown: by day, by night, in the rain, in the snow, in the bright sunshine - a breeze here, a shimmer there - chance encounters, forest glades of childhood and youth. I comb through the attic, scour the house - looking for traces. In the process, I keep asking myself the question: why am I searching for memories that may not have existed? In some moments I catch a glimpse of the truth, but often I struggle to separate what is supposedly real from what is invented. Childhood is simultaneously present and unattainable in the different phases of life. Our childhood memories form a foundation for our lives. They are often blurred, obscure and dark, and instead of an image we often experience a mood.
