ABOUT ME
Before entering university, I noticed that people were trying to
express themselves through appearance. I felt that the accessories
of higher quality could be more aesthetically pleasing, so I started
making accessories. In 2016, I entered EKA Accessory and binding
design to learn how to make accessories and book binding.
Handbag design projects immediately became my favorite, because
the handbag one of the most practical and prominent of
accessories.
I Use colours in my work that create and support a certain mood for
each object and bring it into the soul.
On this long but fast journey, I discovered a lot about myself and
learned to see the world more diverse than before. I believe that the
biggest contribution to the completion of the univesity was the
Kristina
courage to be myself and what I learned and experienced at the
Estonian Academy of Arts.

UFO socks
PHOTO: CLAIRE PIXIE AUNISON
The aim of the project was to create ultra-comfortable
and light sock/shoes that are not felt when worn. The
choice of colors was inspired by UFO images spread
on the Internet. The grey part of the sock should
mimic the tone of an alien's body. The sole is yellow
like a halo that occurs when an alien steps off a
spaceship. Eye accessory
is inspired by the all-seeing third eye.

Where are you synesthetician?
I wish you a smell of the patterns!
As a child, I felt the smell of patterns.
The kalingur I used to cover the book
reminded me
grandmother's bag, the pattern of
which I remember as a scent. Today,
my synthetics are gone.

Sandals

The work is inspired by military clothing
and how military action leaves its mark on
the accessory industry. The red sole layer
mimics the blood that humanity has shed
as a result of war.

Anti-theft bag
PHOTO: NIKITA KADEIKIN
The aim of the project was to create a new anti-theft
solution for handbags. I solved the problem by creating
a theft-proof lining that misleads the thieves with fake
lining layers and hidden pockets. The result was
a theft-proof and multifunctional bag that can be worn
as both a sports bag and a women's leisure bag.

Anti Plastic Social Club 2018

With this work, I would like to draw attention to the problem of food
overpacking. The food basket in the picture contains small leather accessories
in the form of lemon, avocado and meat. Foodstuffs that have their own natural
protective layer, or cream, are packaged in plastic packaging. Most plastic
packaging cannot be recycled or reused. It pollutes our surroundings and
plastic particles enter our food table and body through groundwater, the food
chain and things.
On average, a person eats, drinks, breathes five grams of plastic microparticles
a week, which is equal to the size of a bank card.

Sustainable Collection
PHOTO: KRISTINA KOPPEL
A collection of small accessories completed within the joint project of the
Estonian Academy of Arts (EAA) and the Estonian Design House (EDM).
The aim of the project was to make a coherent set of everyday products,
taking into account the principles of circular design. I used 10 different
fasteners left over from production in this collection. Set were made on
the principle of modularity, according to which the collection consists of
individual products, they can be matched, added or replaced according to
the function. The set includes a handbag, phone bag, keychain, card
holder and handle.

Thief gloves
PHOTO: KRISTINA KOPPEL
Gloves made from goatskin are inspired by thieves,
who use gloves to hide their fingerprints.
The fingers have separate "tips" that can be removed
if necessary. Suitable for both casual wear and for
commiting a crime. Fortunately, there are cuts
made for my hand only.

Oil painting on a recycled leather handbag.
Inspired by 2014 memories of a trip to Amsterdam
when I visited the legendary Red light district. In
front of and behind the commercial window, people
can see a lot of fear, pleasure and hope.

Semi-leather binding. The cover of the
book is inspired by the meaning of the
texts, where the author describes his
childhood. The book reminds me my
childhood memories in the countryside
sitting behind grandmother's table. I
chose a cover paper that reminds me of
this mood.
