is expected to dominate with 65% share of the
Asia Pacific market for plant-based meat which
was estimated to reach US$3.06 billion by

POULTRY
MAJOR POULTRY PRODUCERS IN
2020
Chicken or poultry is one of the most popular
meat consumed by the world population as it
is affordable and available in great quantities.
Not only that, almost every part of the chicken
is edible for human consumption.
According to latest data from US Department
of Agriculture (USDA), the US, China and
Brazil are three of the world’s largest poultry
producers in 2020.
The US produced 20.25 million tonnes
followed by China (14.6 million tonnes), Brazil
(13.9 million tonnes) and the European Union
(12.37 million tonnes).
The US has the highest per capita consumption
of chicken at 43.7 kg. The US poultry industry is
consolidated and vertically integrated with the
Top 3 producers accounting for more than 50%
of production in the country.
Other major chicken producers in the world
include Russia, India, Mexico, Thailand, Turkey,
Argentina and Malaysia.
Meanwhile, major exporters of chicken are
Brazil and the US with major destinations being
Mexico, China, Russia and the Middle East.
