INTERVIEW WITH JOSEPH

13

If you want to immigrate to the US and

study art and want to start with your

own art career in the US

Then this interview is for you, we are

interviewing a Nigerian artist who

wants to move from Nigeria to the US

for his art career.

He is sharing his artistic journey and

his immigration process, inspiring you

to work on your dream and get started.

Q 1) Tell me something about you

and how you entered in this art field

and started with art?

1) My name is Joseph, I actually

started drawing at a very young age. I

just loved to draw, and every time I

held a pencil, I always felt like, art is

something I want to do for the rest of

my life.

Q 2) Tell me, where do you see

yourself in 5, 10 years?

2) 5-10 years from now, I see myself as

a filmmaker and a fashion illustrator. I

see myself basically living my dreams.

Q 3) How is your journey from

Nigeria to the US? What struggles

did you come across and how did

you overcome it?

3) My moving to the USA is coming on

well. But with the restrictions on

Nigerians, I'm working in other ways.

Q 4) What keeps you going all through

these years, what's your inspiration or

motivation to keep going?

4) I can say God has kept me going

basically. Self motivation secondly, I have

not just been made to quit.

Q 5) Why do you want to move there?

What's your main motive behind it?

5) I've always wanted to study abroad

actually, the USA is a good place to study

art. I also want to see life in greater

perspectives by travelling.

Q 6) What is your artistic medium,

what is your art style and why do you

pick that one only, I mean there are

many art styles out there?

6) I do pencil drawings, mostly, and I

would say my art is both naturalistic and

style. I actually like realism, I always

want my drawings to look at least

realistic.

Q 7) What impact do you want to leave

on this planet earth?

7) I basically want to be everything I'm

called to be. I want to change lives, I help

people who struggle through life, believe

me it hasn't been easy for me, but as I

grow and become more successful, I also

want to help people who struggle to

come out of their situations. I also would

love to build an Art School here in my

country Nigeria.

Q 8) What way do you want to be

remembered artist or in some other

way?

8) I want to be remembered as a

contemporary artist, designer,

filmmaker and of course the one who

built an art here in Nigeria

Q 9) Where do people should find

you?

9) People can find me on Instagram

Follow me on Instagram @

ayokunmi_arts.

INSTAGRAM STORY

SECRETS

19

Would you like to know how Instagram stories can

help you in growing your Instagram page? How

can a story can increase your engagement?

If yes then keep on reading. You would be

thinking who am I and why I am qualified to say

so. Well, let me tell you that I grew my Instagram

art magazine page @globo__arte from a few

hundred followers in October 2019 to 18000+

followers in just a few months.

Today I will be sharing you with my Instagram

story tactics which help me to grow my page.

In my first issue I talk about the general Instagram

secrets to my Instagram page growth, if you want

to know about that you can check out our first

issue at the link.

Today we will talk about Instagram story, let's get

started

Beginning with first tactics that we commonly use

is

1) Instagram question tab - we use this tab to

ask our followers about questions they have

about our magazine launch or any art

difficulty they have - it's a great tactic cause

people love Q&A - giving your followers to

interact in the story is the number 1 tactic,

and then reply to them again via story.

2) Another tactic we use is the swipe feature,

sending people to our magazine link and to our

freebies, because people like swiping.

3) Another tactic is a poll feature asking people,

whether they like it or not, you can also use this

feature for asking people about their opinion

regarding your product or asking about art.

5) The Use Instagram story to personalize and

build a relationship with your followers - story

remains for 24 hours so updating Instagram story

every 24 hours and letting people give them more

content on that helps you increase their

engagement

6) Posting viral content - you can post a video in

your story and it can go viral, we use this tactic for

our other account as well

7) Letting people know about your new post is

also a great tool by sharing your post in your

story to get more eyeballs on your post and on

your account

8) To give your clients/you're paying customer

more personalized experience you can leverage

close friends section of your story and by adding

your clients/customers in your close friends section

and then putting a story only for your close

friends

9) Launching your product in your story, we use it

quite often, for promoting our product, you can

also use it for promoting your art store or

whatever paid programs you have

4) swipe up feature - its another important aspect

of story feature but account having 10k or more

followers can only use it ,but don't feel bad if you

don't have that much followers, you can also

leverage it by IGTV ,you can record a video and

put that video on IGTV and than you can link that

IGTV to your story and ask people to swipe up

than they will be directed to IGTV and from their

they can click on link and can use it.

10) For collecting emails - we collected our email

by letting people know about it in our story, we

use story for announcing about our wait list for

the magazine, for art freebies

11) Highlights - you can also put a story on your

profile as highlights and can use highlight cover to

make it more appealing and attractive bio, we use

green and blue color background cover in your

highlight as our brand color.

2) To reach a larger audience use hashtag

features in your story to get more eyeballs, we

use this feature for arts challenges, we host

these arts challenges on a particular hashtag

and then use those hashtags in our stories.

13) Mentioning or tagging someone in your story is

also a great tool, although we don't use it much,

but for story shootouts, it's a great tool, you can

do a story for a story for other art accounts having

same amounts of followers.

14) Animated GIF are a great tool to give your

story more professional look and they convert

really well, people find connected to them,

especially we use it for our swipe features we use

animated GIF and it turned out to be a great

conversion for our magazine

15) Last but not the least, there are never ending

options on how you can use your story for your

Instagram growth of your page, by using a short

trailer of your product or using it for your page or

to your YouTube channel - you can talk to people

/followers in your story about your page and can

promote your page too
