The Wishing

Star

Once, there was a

little wishing star

named Lucy. Lucy

couldn’t wait to

grow up.

She wanted to

travel the world

and grant

children’s wishes.

Because, you see,

when children sang

to a wishing star,

their wishes came

true.

Granting wishes

took training. Her

mom said “Be

patient, Lucy. Your

time will come”

Lucy was NOT

patient. One evening

she listened carefully

and danced across the

sky. She could hear a

little one singing.

“Star Light, Star bright,

First Star I see tonight,

Wish I may, Wish I might,

Grant this wish I wish

tonight.”

The little girl

made a wish:

“I wish for a

pony.”

Lucy circled in the

sky 3 times, bounced

up and down, and said

“Your wish is

granted.” POOF!

POOF!

A guinea pig

appeared next to

the little girl.

“Darn!” said Lucy.

“I will have to try

again.”

She listened carefully

and danced across the

sky. She could hear a

little one singing.

“Star Light, Star bright,

First Star I see tonight,

Wish I may, Wish I might,

Grant this wish I wish

tonight.”

The little boy made a wish.

“I wish for a bike”

Lucy circled in the

sky 3 times, bounced

up and down, and said

“Your wish is

granted.” POOF!

POOF!

A hot wheels car

appeared next to

the little boy.

“Darn!” said Lucy.

“I will have to try

again.”

She listened carefully

and danced across the

sky. She could hear a

little one singing.

“Star Light, Star bright,

First Star I see tonight,

Wish I may, Wish I might,

Grant this wish I wish

tonight.”

The little girl made a wish.

“ I wish for peace.”

Lucy circled in the

sky 3 times, bounced

up and down, and said

“Your wish is

granted.” POOF!

POOF!

And at that moment all

fighting ceased. Countries,

neighbors, and friends

looked at each other and

only felt compassion,

kindness, and love.

Lucy danced all the

way home.

“I did it Mama,

she cried.” “You

did little one.” said

her Mama. "I am

so proud of you.”
