Description
Thermaissance’s anti-fungal technology has been shown to be highly effective and
resistant against Mucor species as per the scientific study conducted at NABL ISO
17025 certified lab in India. Such mucor species are commonly known to cause
Mucormycosis or Black Fungus infection, as per US Centre for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC).

Characteristics
Thermaissance’s unique fabric technology is shown to have high resistance to
such pathogens causing black fungus. Even after 3 days, no growth was seen
on Thermaissance fabric. Thermaissance has launched new range of
Anti-fungal masks, made using such fabrics.

Thermaissance fabric shows zero growth of mucor species, even after 72 hrs of incubation
Mucormycosis is a serious fungal infection, rapidly spreading among the Covid-19 patients and is
declared as secondary infection in Covid-19 patients. The infection affects the sinuses, the brain,
eyes and the lungs and is particularly life-threatening in people with Diabetes, Cancer, Organ
transplant, Stem cell transplant, Neutropenia (low number of white blood cells), Long-term
corticosteroid use, Injection drug use, Too much iron in the body (iron overload or hemochromatosis),
Skin injury due to surgery, burns, or wounds and Prematurity and low birthweight (for neonatal
gastrointestinal mucormycosis). This fungal infection is associated with high mortality at 54% as per
US CDC. Many patients even have had to undergo amputation or physical disfigurement to restrict
the fungus from spreading.
