July 2021 Issue

Welcome to the first-ever issue which marks the beginning of this magazine. It may seem all over the place, hence the name Shambles. I for one, have no clue what is to become of this in the future. For now, we hope to continue over the summer, trying to bring creativity and inspiration to you all. This zine will be an outlet for many different types of people. We want to showcase as much as possible and give everyone the opportunity to not only create but experiment and explore their capabilities and talents. We will only try to get better as we keep working here. In attempts at our first issue we never really discussed a theme. But, I think that's the beauty of chaos and disorder, you never really know what you're going to get out of it. We hope you are able to make any sense of the following pages. Please, man, give us some slack here, we're just trying to figure it all out. Anyways enjoy whatever you find, as I said, it's complete shambles.

I am where I am

I know what I know

And when I learn more

Then who knows where I’ll go?

Now I am here

And that’s alright with me

Let my worries disappear

I will simply be

The

Tree

The Tree

Mina Chavez-Torres

A small patch of grass

A tree that shades

Ten friends sitting around after class

Lunch time on the green blades

Secrets told

Laughs shared

Ageless friendship, that never grew old

They always cared

For each other

Safe space

To stick together

Even when friends have grown

And time moves on

The tree stands alone

And the memory is never gone

There's music for raging friday night

parties, there's music for walking

down the street or waiting for a

friend. There's music for the

sad, the joyful, the significant, most

memorabe moments. There's

music for every point in time and that

music just keeps evolving. That

music brings people together or to

nostalgize over. That music is

the world's one communication

where language isn't needed.

Through the beat, rythyms, meodies,

and instruments, that's all we need to

feel.
