VICTORIA BARNES 

Nee Victoria Borges grew up with a pencil in her 

hand. Originally from Germany, she spent her 

early years bouncing between continents until 

finally landing in Richmond, VA. 

She earned a BFA in Communication Arts and 

Design from Virginia Commonwealth University, 

with an emphasis on illustration. 

Inspired by surface design, impressionism, and 

the natural world, her work is playful and 

experimental, with an emphasis on unique textures 

and color palettes. Her art spans a variety 

of mediums, ranging from digital illustration to 

collage, to acrylic paint.

ANNIE WARREN 

Annie Warren is a designer and illustrator 

living in Richmond, Va. She began expressing 

herself through drawing from an 

early age. Her family’s walls are adorned 

in portraits of family members and household 

pets she’s drawn over the years. 

Annie’s creative path led her to Richmond 

where she attended Virginia Commonwealth 

University, receiving her BFA in 

Graphic Design. Annie continues to draw 

inspiration from the cities in which she 

has lived and traveled, her sketchbooks 

filled with drawings from life. Her work 

reflects her love of portraiture, antiquities, 

and vibrant color.

JEN PAXTON PARKER 

Raised in Richmond, Jen’s parents 

pushed her innate talent of drawing from 

a young age. Heavily influenced by her 

grandfather’s library of personal 

sketchbooks, she focused on realism, 

figurative work and portraiture. 

Jen received her BFA from Virginia 

Commonwealth University in 2001. Once 

working in mainly graphite & pastel, she 

has expanded to watercolor and acrylic 

in a wide range of subject matter. After a 

successful career in fashion, Jen now 

resides in Richmond happily raising her 

2 children and creating art.

MELISSA WANG 

Melissa Wang is a multi-faceted 

Chinese illustrator and designer based in 

Richmond, VA. Her parents discovered 

her talent when she was four years old. 

She started with Chinoiserie painting, 

later using pencil, gouache, oil, acrylic, 

chalk, watercolor, and ink. Her unique 

style is found in a wide variety of media. 

As an illustrator, Wanwan’s obsession 

with nature is apparent in all of her work. 

Natural forms, unlimited in their variety, 

inspire and capture Melissa’s imagination. 

She is especially drawn to botany 

and animals, but not limited to these.

Alicia graduated from Virginia 

Commonwealth University in 1990 

with a BFA in Fashion Art and 

Advertising. Since then, she has 

experimented with many 

different forms of media - her 

favorites being watercolor, 

encaustic, and photography. 

She is always open to new ideas 

and techniques so that she 

doesn’t get bored or stuck in a rut. 

Her artwork is greatly self-fulfilling 

but she hopes that it brings 

viewers joy and happiness.

creates fresh, modern takes on

Erica’s abstract work distills her love 

for design down to its very essence.

subject, she is free to balance line, 

color, & gesture to create a whole that

GRACE POPP 

Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, 

Grace Popp was almost always surrounded 

by a body of water. This exposed her early 

on to the wildlife and landscapes that are 

present in her work today. 

After graduating from VCU with a BFA in 

Communication Arts in 2014, Grace spent 

the following years experimenting with watercolor 

painting, which continues to be her 

favorite medium. 

Grace draws inspiration from her rural 

Virginia Beach roots and her current 

landscape of the Blue Ridge Mountains. 

She lives with her partner, their two cats, 

and their 100+ houseplants (they don’t all 

have names but they are very loved).
