Inspiration from your future.
5 reasons why visionaries are the true realists.
On this rainy, school-free Wednesday afternoon I stand at the
window of my small room that I share with my younger brother.
The sound of the overture from the opera buffa "Le Nozze di
Figaro" from the mobile radio at the room entrance touches my
heart. The small yardstick in my right hand moves to this
dynamic melody in time to the beat, while I dream of my future
as a conductor...until my mother turns up and hits the off
button of the radio - and once again admonishes me to finally
do the math homework for tomorrow.
A few years later, the chances for my dream of be-coming a
conductor seem to have increased. Although I had meanwhile
already used up two other instruments, I fought my way to a
wonderful piano with my father - thanks to the support of the
school principal, who was a renowned music expert.
Sometime later my talents for music and singing were tested
until one day I was recommended to study at the conservatory
of music.
An indescribable lucky day for me, of course with a symphony
and the beat in my hand!
The end of my school days was swiftly approaching. My
expectant thoughts were completely absorbed by my musical
future - yes, it already lived within me. At least until the time
when my father decided that I should first learn a decent
profession. That was when a whole world collapsed for me,
and it took me a very long time to digest this fact.

Leaders are not born –
they grow out of the crowd
thanks to challenges that
Life offers to them.
⎯ Heinz Kaegi
During my commercial apprenticeship, it became increasingly
clear to me that my baton would not have a great career
without a conservatory. Many years and many visits to
concerts later - in the meantime I was on my promising path in
a management career - I was finally able to put my father's
decision from back then into perspective, in the context of my
career prospects. And I always had my beloved piano with me.
To my astonishment, the dream of the conductor was
consistently very active within me - in view of the reality that
had made it become rather an illusion. This dream inspired me
with his sparkling energy of certainty and kept me open for no
matter what crazy possibilities on the path of the visionary
believer. And, after all, there have been countless
opportunities in my career to orchestrate the talents of
business teams and conduct executive teams to inspire their
ONE Vision to their audience of stakeholders.
Decades later, on this very beautiful September evening, I am
once again standing in a concert hall. This time in a
particularly festive dress. In front of me a unique symphony
orchestra. Below me the conductor's platform. In my right
hand, my noble baton, whose appearance made obvious its
countless hours of practice. Behind me the invited VIP
audience, whose hearts to embrace we present this famous
piece of music. I take another deep breath, connect with the
fantastic instrumentalists in front of me, and with my baton I
give the signal for the overture from the opera buffa "Le Nozze
di Figaro".

Then everything comes together. The indescribable power of
the music that touches us. The attentive use of the baton. The
complete oneness in the rhythm of the emotions of this piece
and being carried by the team of professionals. Then the
applause, the experience of this magic inner bliss in
connection with these great musicians, the appreciation for
the composer, the great gratitude for the wise mentors, the
courageous coaches and the passionate people who made
this truly unique life experience possible for a small group of
friends, business leaders and me.
The script for this has been developed over many years as a
mentor for visionary leadership - within the framework of the
developed 7 levels of my LEX Leadershift Excellence for Life
Program - to a certain extent as a final master's graduation
day for leaders at the highest level.
Have you noticed the dream killers in this true story?
This is an exciting question per se because we often are not
even aware of these obstructors, thus cannot transform them
effectively. At the same time, they hide opportunities to
successfully shape the way into the future thanks to them and
with them. Be it in the essential life area of career & business
or in all the other important life areas.
By all means, the inner voice of the heart, or simply the
intuitive gut feeling of the leader within us is required. And
then, of course, proven principles and practical tools that are
suitable for everyday use.

In the worldwide exclusive LEX Leadershift Excellence for
Life Program, we take a close look at the patterns of success
and failure, their significance and benefits for our learning and
growth.
1. No Purpose – No Power.
2. No Vision – No Passion.
3. No Focus – No Freedom.
4. No Commitment – No Achievement.
5. No Team – No Success.

What you can conceive
and truly believe,
you can achieve.

1. No Purpose – No Power.
Visionaries are people who know who they are and what they
exist for. We are purpose-driven beings. Children ask a
thousand times "Why, for what, what for". They also want to
grasp the meaning of things. And in a business context, we
are only really productive and effective together when the
meaning of a topic or project is crystal clear to those involved.
2. No Vision – No Passion.
A vision of a changed future produces more inspiration and
achievement of goals in professional and personal Life. To
visualize and emotionalize dreams, wishes and ideas is crucial
to escape from the dream killing hamster wheel of everyday
life, and to reach out both mentally and emotionally into this
promised future.
3. No Focus – No Freedom.
The successful ones among us have - even sometimes
unconsciously - a so-called "Focus ONE" topic, which they
have completely internalized. They experience thereby daily
broadcasting time with the magnetic goal, on tomorrow’s
timeline. The accompanying ongoing inspiration then turns a
"no" from the outside into what it really is: a temporary state.

Growing beyond is
to grow into the
best version of ourselves.

4. No Commitment – No Achievement.
The New German word "Commitment" sums it up. When
people really believe in their goals, they are able to form this
incredible force-field of achievement. Then, the impossibilities
of yesterday become achievements of tomorrow.
5. No Team – No Success.
When we realize dreams, big goals and visions, there are
always - and sometimes many other people involved. They are
the stars who make success possible. The same is true for our
inner team of the many super (arche)types on our ark.
Where have you already discovered potential for yourself in
these 5 out of a total of 7 reasons that you as a leader would
