Ms. Amy Mauk and Ms. Wendy Lester's 4th & 5th-grade
Gifted & Talented class from E.E. Emerson Elementary
School in Coalgate, OK took a new approach with their
winning project, A Good Habit. While creating this
project, they researched the amount of bottled water
that their school consumed and made it their mission
to try to reduce the problem. The students created a
17" x 14" recycling bin made entirely out of bottle caps
for others to easily toss the caps and overall reduce
the amount of litter that they would normally see on
the playground.
