A New Director for Humanity & Inclusion Canada

After 14 years with Humanity &

Inclusion, including more than six years as

Executive Director in Canada, Jérôme Bobin

has decided to accept a new challenge

without leaving the organization. Jérôme

has accepted to take the reins of HI's

program in Myanmar and Thailand.

As Director, Jérôme was able to

accelerate Humanity & Inclusion Canada's

digital transition, to sustain relationships

with institutional donors, including Global

Affairs Canada (GAC), and to increase

the association's notoriety in the province

of Quebec and elsewhere in the country.

Under his leadership, Humanity & Inclusion

Canada has solidly consolidated its

foundations to better anticipate the future.

A man of the field, having participated in

various projects in Laos (cluster munitions),

Vietnam (spinal cord injuries), Cambodia

(landmines), Lebanon (advocacy), Morocco

(socio-economic integration), Colombia

(assistance to victims) and Cuba (socioeconomic

integration and natural disaster

preparedness), it is in Myanmar that Jérôme

will continue his fight to help the most

vulnerable.

Following Jerome's departure, Humanity

& Inclusion Canada was pleased to

welcome its new Executive Director,

Alexis Gaiptman, who has over 15

years of experience in fundraising in the

health sector and in the academic world,

specializing in legacy and major gifts.

Driven by her desire to make a

difference in vulnerable communities

around the world, Alexis has made it

her mission to increase the points of

contact between our beneficiaries in over

60 countries around the world and our

supporters in Canada.

"It is by highlighting our projects

that Canadians will understand the

full extent of our impact," she says.

Alexis Gaiptman's background is in Political Science, Women's Studies and Community Economic

Development. She is the President Elect of the Quebec Board of the Association of Fundraising

Professionals (AFP) and has recently completed her Executive MBA with McGill-HEC Montreal.

Chad: holistic

development

Our Chadian teams recently shared new photos from a

four-year development project that includes demining,

economic recovery, social protection and access to

rehabilitation.

Demining teams (top right) are piloting drones that

spot remnants of war, clearing explosive hazards,

and leading risk education sessions. Their work helps

children play safely, and farmers graze their livestock

without fear.

Meanwhile, mothers (left) are getting a financial boost

to start their own businesses. Physical therapists and

prosthetic technicians (bottom right) are helping mine

victims and people with disabilities walk again.

The project started in 2017, and is led by Humanity &

Inclusion. Partners include Mines Advisory Group, the

Swiss Foundation for Mine Action, and SECADEV.
