WHAT IS PET ABUSE?
The animal mistreatment comprises behaviors
that cause unnecessary pain or stress to non -
human animals. They range from neglect of
basic care to torture, mutilation or intentional
death.

Most of times the relationship between animals
and people is affected by the education of the
latter.
People often don’t know the responsability off
having a pet,

animales need to be
looked after al the

People usually don’t mind
about dogs health. They
even abandon their pets
when they don’t need
them anymore.

don’t really consider

for having a pet.

“The abandonment of a pet is considered a
serious offense and the owner will be
sanctioned by the Metropolitan Control Agency
with a fine of 45 to 90% of a unified basic
salary.”
We hope this helps animals in order to keep
their integrity.

Sometimes authorities
try to teach
abandoned animals in
order to make them
part of the National
Police.
Not only authorities do this
type of work. Often,
common people helps
abandoned animals by
giving them a home.

HOW CAN WE HELP?
Sterilization of our pets Will help avoiding them
to reproduce. We can’t keep an eye on them all
the time so this simple step will help a lot to
avoid having more little animals that don’t
deserve a bad life.

By sterilising our pets
will have the following
benefits:
• Stopping the heat cycle in
female cats and dogs
• Living a longer and healthier life
• Preventing testicular cancer and
prostate disease in male pets
• Preventing pyometra (infection
of the uterus) and mammary
tumours (breast cancer) in
female animals
• Decreasing aggression towards
humans and other animals
• Being less prone to wander,
especially in male pets
