Splittingapart easily, it revealed itself to be a decomposing fish.We all revolted.Yes it was a classic day up there at that lake. Sun wasshining, there were massive stone cliffs all around us andabout four thousand feet to fall. It was cold, and it was windy.It was awesome.You know, we felt some real satisfaction when wereached that lake. All the more, maybe for having not accomplishedthe goal on our first attempt. There is somethingreally amazing about finally achieving something that waspreviously just out of reach.When we got back to the car a few hours later, we weresweaty, disheveled, and happy. I can only speak for myself,but I slept like a rock that night. I always do after backpacking.Folks, it doesn’t matter what your goal is outside. Just getout there! We’ve all been too cooped up lately. Whetheryou’re climbing a mountain or walking around the block, it’sall good.But if you do decide to climb a mountain, I hope you considerLily Lake, up by Gardner, Colorado. I’ve done my bestto give you some idea of what it’s like, but honestly, wordscannot describe it. It is gorgeous. It is awesome in the ultimatesense of the word.
